Veil is a scholarly soul: he loves reading, writing, studying plants and animals. 
In the beginning, at least outwardly, he's very courteous and charismatic (some might mistake it as flirting). 
On the inside, however, he's cold, a bit narcissistic, a bit arrogant, a bit manipulative...maybe more than a bit. 
His true emotions have been stunted as the result of some tragic experiences. 
As a result, he closes himself off emotionally. 
He's developed a sadistic streak and has an unhealthy curiosity for pain... it doesn't really show when he's a kittom but it becomes more apparent as he grows older.

Trivial Tidbits
Veil greatly enjoys butterfly collecting...some think it's cruel, but butterflies don't have the same developed nervous system as elnins do...
Veil loves animals and tries to be friends, but they don't usually love him back
Something horrible happened to him as a kittom; even his best friend Hobbes doesn't know exactly what (yet)
Some days, Veil wishes he could love and express himself normally...he's rather verbally abusive
Veil is weak to female elnin he's related to
The sadistic sides and masochistic sides are closely intertwined

Relationships
Hobbes | Lover/Best Friend | As newborn kittoms, Hobbes made sure that Veil ate and slept regularly and protected him as best as he could.
When Veil disappeared for several months, it was Hobbes who found Veil in the aftermath, bloody and devoid of emotions.  He puts up with a lot of Veil's verbal abuse, but whenever things start getting physical, Hobbes sits on Veil.
"Goddammit, Hobbes, lose some weight."

Memento | friend | Memento is Veil's gardening companion. They've planted some mysterious seeds, and are waiting eagerly for some mysterious sprouts to emerge!
Unfortunately, this mild-tempered kittom gets bullied by Veil a lot. Veil often hides bugs in Memo's fur, and watches him squirm uncomfortably.
"Is that a bug in your fur? You should take a bath already."

Miyuki | half-sister | Miyuki is the kind of sister that understands what her brother is going through, but keeps silent about it. She's very reckless and energetic, and loves sakura blossoms.
Mentally, Veil equates her to a beautiful flower, and tries to take good care of her, in his own way...

Kasia | half-sister | Veil bickers the most with this sibling.  Both of them are pretty obstinate and their interests are on opposite sides of the spectrum.
Veil likes to read and garden calmly while Kasia wants TO PLAY. I believe Veil and Memento's garden has been dug up "by accident" more than once.
