anise

a grad student at the university of lumiose; currently interning at sycamore labs while they work on their thesis. guy with a calm disposition who can be sharp-tongued, but is always caring (a bit tsundere). loves seeking new knowledge

• born in mossdeep city (mother is a scientist working at mossdeep space centre)
• father catches a snorunt to be their partner pokemon from shoal cave nearby
• steven (age 18) moves to mossdeep when they are 6 and they are neighbours. hes like an older brother figure
• hoenn goes through the team magma/aqua climate crisis (havent decided which game is canon) when anise is just starting high school which gets him interested in energy production via pokemon and pokemon evolution
  
• they decide to go uni in sinnoh bc prof rowan is the leading authority on evolution & at some point during uni obtain a dawn stone (from steven) to evolve their snorunt into froslass
  
• after getting their bachelor's rowan recommends them to intern under his former student sycamore
  
• so anise goes to kalos! he runs into an espurr on route 6 when sightseeing at camphrier town/parfum palace and makes it his second partner pokemon
  
• rest of his life spent in the trenches of academia (planning to do a masters at some point)
