ABOUT

Marco Klepsky is the eldest Cometkid and the oldest child of all the children in the extended Comet family, including nearfamily - being the first kid any of the former patients (or staff) would have. He has a huge interest in programming and computers, particularly game and web development. He messes around with personal projects in his free time when he's not working (he works at a grocery store... truly living) but would like to work for an indie game studio at some point (as opposed to an AAA studio). Alongside programming stuff he's really good with electronics in general and has built computers before.

Marco has really bad insomnia and struggles to ever sleep, and will often stay up all night - but still be awake during the day, so whenever he actually does sleep it's probably day naps that only last a few hours. The source of his insomnia isn't clear, but no sleep medication ever helps him - so he's just constantly drinking caffeine to stay awake. His sleep issues lead to him being drowsy and a bit disoriented all the time.

Marco has huge hang-ups with his family. Being the oldest, he was expected to help care and look after his younger siblings from an early age, and he feels like he never really got to experience being a kid. He hates the responsibilities their parents put onto him, and it makes him very resentful and bitter towards everybody even though he does love them. The sibling he gets along with most is Sly, even though he thinks he's weird. Marco isn't really aware of how much Sly looks up to him.

Unconditional

Marco cares deeply about his family despite those feelings of resentment he holds, and he feels a sense of obligation to be a part of them and like he can't just up and leave with things how they are - because he knows he's a driving force in matters of stability in the house. He doesn't just want to abandon everybody.

Firm

Marco is very firm with people, and he has an easier time stopping arguments in the family because he isn't afraid to be stern with his siblings. He knows how to express what he wants and say what he wants, and in turn get people to do what he wants.

Robot

Because of his role as the eldest sibling, Marco never really gets to make decisions on his own and is always doing things for others and taking care of the family. He doesn't really get much time alone and is always busy doing something and this makes him exhausted, as he already doesn't really sleep much.

STORY EVENTS

Velcro baby

When Marco hatched, he was an extremely clingy baby and never wanted to be alone or away from his parents. He was extremely needy of attention literally all the time, and would cry if he was alone or not being held for even one minute. Their parents never got time to themselves until one day they got him a special plushie possum that he named Corky that would become his forever comfort item. When the other kids hatched, Marco bore resentment over the fact he wasn't the only child anymore and wasn't getting all the attention, and this is a huge root to a LOT of his issues.
