Born into a rather wealthy family, Persephone tragically perished at a very young age during a house fire. During her time of death, her spirit latched onto the very flames that took her life, turning her skin to wax as she became a Litwick. Her father, Bartholomew Merle, was psychologically damaged from the incident, given that he witnessed his only child dying before his very eyes. Despite her returning as a Ghost Pokémon, the damage was done, and Bartholomew could not even recognize his own daughter anymore. He was forced to undergo isolated treatment, leaving Persephone alone without a father. Lonesome and sorrowful, she goes to her favorite peach tree to vent out her anguish under the shade with her favorite, cracked porcelain doll by her side. That is when a kind young man with pink hair noticed her and kept her company. She has been inseparable to him ever since.
