personality: Much akin to their namesake, Coyote is sly and sharp-witted. With a small and light frame, one has to adapt to the hand of cards dealt. Coyote relies on stealth and overwhelming speed rather than charging headfirst into a fight-- not to say that they wouldn't jump at the opportunity to go in guns blazing if they had the proper artillery to handle the job.

From a social standpoint, this means they also opt for sneaky and smart ways to wiggle out of fights or gain the upper hand. Whether this be digging up dirt for blackmail or finding logistic loopholes, safe to say they have a silver tongue. They boast a large, impulsive and loud personality in more social settings, but do not take this for face value-- Coyote is extremely perceptive, and more likely than not they have already pinpointed several of your weaknesses. On the other hand, a bullet in the skull did have its own unique effects. Their sense of reasoning can sometimes be faulty, quick to recklessly ally up with someone they find charming, make dangerous bets-- or mercilessly slaughter someone who annoys them just enough.

history: Like a face burned out of a photo, large memory gaps are edged by singed fragments of a life they may have had before being shot. Coyote doesn't try to remember- they keep what they have left, and whatever comes back in sharp, bright painful bursts upon a sudden trigger. Suffering a tendency to staggering headaches, blackouts and nosebleeds upon any attempt to remember quickly taught them not to try. No paper trails or terminals could give them back their name, and nobody was there to recall fond memories of who they might have been.

Coyote wandered the wastes entirely alone as a courier, firmly convinced they needed no one by their side. Self-sufficient to a fault, they refused help even if it took them to the grave. All it took was one more flip of a coin-- face up. Just like that, they were in a shallow grave, head splattered in the dirt staring up at a sky that seemed to have twice as many stars.

Coyote was never the same, and they didn't even have the memories to realize it. Their body was brought back from the edge by a Goodsprings doctor, but the same could not be said for their mind. A gaping trench marred where memories were and a profound amount of rage nearly doomed them to a fate of wildly roaming the wastelands, forever hunting madly for revenge on the man who took their name from them.

Had it not been for a chance meeting of Benny Gecko's reprogrammed Securitron, the Chairman leader's lifeless body staining the casino suite carpet red would have marked the end of purpose for them. Dealt a series of Wild Cards, Yes Man saved Coyote from mindlessly running off into the cold desert night, their mind too far gone to try and take on a new life. Simple possibilities he dealt them inadvertently withdrew them from that storm of rage, calling their mind back to focus on new tasks at hand. Simple focus turned to dedication, their unpredictable behavior carving a trail to the top-- co-owner of the Lucky 38, freedom fighter for an independant Vegas, loyal lover to the Securitron that took them by the hands and waltzed them back from the void.

YES MAN [Lover]:On first glance, Coyote quickly came to trust him simply on the notion that he was... well... very attractive to them. Enough so that it saved him from the revenge-hungry courier mauling him when he admitted to being an instrument in their death. Benny's demise brought on a sobering realization of a total loss of self for Coyote. Standing there in a silent casino suite, Yes Man took the opportunity to steer them in a new direction as soon as he recognized the growing empty look in their eyes.

Seeing his face flicker to life on the Lucky 38 screens truly brought Coyote to consciousness, rationalization settling in finally. They'd done that-- for him. For the first time in their life, Coyote had a friend.

The chipper AI had been content to sit in the casino and run things remotely, but his own growing fondness and concern for them stole him away from his stations and out into the Mojave, wherever they wandered. Which was probably a good idea, because it's insane how many stimpaks he's had to stick them with. Plus, it meant he got to watch them squirm more often when he flirted with them. It was a back-and-forth dance between them, Coyote toeing the line and Yes Man pitching straight over it.

After the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, he returned triumphant and more assertive, the comfort of knowing he could say 'no' dissolved all apprehensions for Coyote. The love confession was more like a simple, casual conversation, but god did it feel special.
