Loki lives and works with Dr. Newt on his lab. He is required to pilot a giant robot built by Dr. Newt whenever the situation calls for it - be it a test or a life and death situation. It's something he enjoys doing and was his main focus until he fell in love with a rivaling pilot.

It resulted in a secret love affair that they struggle to hide almost as much as they try to maintain because of how hard it is for the two to meet.
