Profile

Darcy Cat was a limited preteen emboridery patch series from a Gaudesville KY based craft magazine mail-in serice in the 1970s. They were popularized in the 80s by several famous bands using her likeness in album covers and on clothing DIY'd from childrens clothes. She gained infamy as a status symbol when Star [LASTNAME] of [BAND] purchased a pair of pants with two original Darcy Cat emboridery patches on it. The patches themselves were created in such limited quantities that their influence came as a surprise to the local magazine founders. There have been many reprints since then but since they are made of different material and come in different designs a lot of people do not consider them on the same level as owning the originals.
