Profile

Baklavi, who would rather you call her 'Vee' for simplicity's sake, is another one of the many misfits who've found their way to Kandi and Darla's hotel as a permanent resident. She tends to the gardens of the hotel, and helps with some of the cooking and the work that Kandi sometimes has trouble with due to her old age. A bright and sunny person with a spunky side, she's the hotel's resident disney princess, doing her best to help out where she can and make people smile.

For as long as she can remember, Baklavi has always been traveling, being taken from place to place by a caretaker whom Baklavi thought of much like a mother. Their relationship was warm and caring, but their life was frantic. Baklavi's caretaker seemed to be constantly trying to take the two of them and run away from something, but she never really told Baklavi what or why. And Baklavi had asked as she got older, but before she could get a proper answer out of her caretaker the two got seperated, and the young Baklavi (about pre teen age at that time) was left on her own.

Doing her best to survive in a strange universe she really knew little of, she lived as a street urchin for a short while, stowing away on ships and trying to get food where she could, before she ended up at the Hotel. The owners took her in, luckily before the street life could really sink it's cruel teeth into her, and she's been living with the owners in the hotel ever since.

She's happy with her life now, and will always put helping others over her own desires, but in the back of her mind she still has questions that haunt her. Where had her caretaker gone? What had the two of them been running away from in the first place? And why? Maybe the new stranger who showed up on the steps of the hotel, with his own mysterious circumstances, could help answer her questions...

Trivia

For her species, she is about 20-23 years in age by human standards. However, her species matures into adulthood SLIGHTLY faster than humans, so in human years she is 18.

Her name is a pun based off of the arabic sweet called Baklava + the word Bee (the 'vi' in Baklavi is pronounced with a double e sound). All members of her species have names that are corruptions of the names of various sweets and snacks and desserts, with a vaguely egyptian flair.
