Lightmé

~Backstory~

Lightmé’s story began the second she was created from the Mirror of Truth. Her very first action was sneering at the broken and stunned Shadmé that created her before allying with Shadmé’s enemy, her telepathic voice POD, and vanishing to its lair. Orcos, a demon and another ally of POD, trapped Shadmé in a three-year long nightmare. Due to their connection, Lightmé also fell into a comatose state for the same length of time, but Orcos was able to alter the dream for her in order to give her a mental battle zone that she practiced in for those years. With three years of no exposure to others and nothing but a desire to battle, it is little wonder that Lightmé is deranged.

After Shadmé woke up, Lightmé, too, awoke, and was sent off to the Great Library to gather resources for POD. She met Shadmé in the library and the two clashed, their rivalry finally formally being declared. After being kicked out of the library by Phosphora, Lightmé was sent back to POD’s lair and presumably continued working for it. Her current whereabouts and state are unknown.

~Personality~

Lightmé is a doppelgänger of Shadmé, created by the Mirror of Truth. Like Dark Pit is to Pit, she is a manifestation of Shadmé’s inner darkness. However, unlike Dark Pit, who conquered his darkness and stands as an ally to Pit, she wants nothing to do with Shadmé. The two have an extreme rivalry that quickly descends into violence and hatred when the two are around each other. Shadmé considers Lightmé to be the only person she will never show mercy to. It is believed that Shadmé dislikes Lightmé so much because she fears the parts of her that resulted in Lightmé’s creation in the first place. 

However, the blame can’t be completely placed on Shadmé. Lightmé purposely makes herself hard to work with- she has an independent streak, only making herself useful if there’s something in it for her (though being on a side opposite of Shadmé is often reason enough). She is malevolent, bold, violent and high-emotion, being quickly roused to anger that usually results in the destruction of that which has offended her. She also enjoys mocking Shadmé every chance she gets.

Lightmé is also a very "fight first, questions later" type of girl. She takes pride in her combat skills and often plays dirty, though she has plenty of skill to back it up. Despite her penchant for violence, she is a very clever and manipulative angel as well, being able to think many steps ahead and hatch intricate plots. These characteristics can be difficult to distinguish from each other sometimes, as her plans typically wind up with Lightmé violently attacking something sooner or later.

“That wasn’t too bad of a show. Personally, it would be more interesting with a touch of bloodshed, but I suppose I can live with Shadmé flinging herself around the sky like a puppet on strings.”

“Like you really want to know me! I was the source of your loss of hope! I made you suffer! Just the thought of my mere name rendered you frozen with panic. You just want to recruit me to ease your conscience. Yes, I know you better than you know yourself! You think I’m a mistake that can be converted. Smoothed over. Dark to light, light to dark. Unfortunately for you, little angel, I’m well aware. And I fully intend to make you suffer for it. YOU’RE the mistake, Shadmé, not me!”

~Art Notes~

Lightmé stands at around 5'2" and has an average build. She has violet-red eyes with a ring of red around the pupil; the red becomes especially obvious if she's angry. She has golden-white hair that points at the tips, and exactly five stripes of blue in her hair- four down her back and one on her bangs that cover her left eye, which is scarred. Her feathers are white with blue stems, and her wings are smaller than average. Her casual outfit is her blue t-shirt and yellow pants. Accessories include fingerless gloves, sneakers, shoulder pads and a cape. She always has her thunderbird medallion on her somewhere and always wears her silver laurel crown. She does not need to be drawn with her Chryso Bow.

~Trivia~

• Lightmé is left-handed, but is trying to force herself to be ambidextrous.
• Her bow, the Chryso Bow, means "gold" in Greek.
• She has mixed feelings about her scar. On the one hand, it makes her look super fierce, but on the other, it is evidence to her of the one cheap shot that Shadmé ever landed on her.
• She doesn't mind her bright, golden appearance despite her chaotic leanings; she takes full advantage of it to deceive others for her own gain.
• She is a very private individual and doesn't let out any details on how she conducts herself when apart from others. She seems to want to give off the impression that she blinks into existence merely to fight others, and then disappears again for a while.
