Phoebe grew up close to the school she went to so it was only a quick walk there. She always stayed late in school to draw up clothes from magazines and picture books that she had. A few friends stayed for awhile but by the end of the day Phoebe was alone. It wasn't like she minded it. It was hard to make conversation and think at the same time. Her parents picked her up at the end of the day despite that it wasn't a long walk home. Phoebe eventually told them as she got older that she wanted to walk home by herself. It's a nice walk and she likes to enjoy the surroundings. Phoebe and Abel had been in the same class for a few years. The type of classmate that feel familiar because you see them everyday but you've never really been their friend, just someone around you. They first met when Phoebe transferred to 5th grade since her old school only had up to 5th.

11th grade
Oh oh Is that Abel over there? Maybe I can walk over and say hi!! Come to think of it, I don't see her outside of class much. I wonder where she hangs out!
[Phoebe sees Abel trip and drop the stuff that she is holding] Oh gosh I'll help! [Phoebe walks up from behind her and begins picking up things] "Here you go Abel :)" [Phoebe looks up as she reaches to give Abel her things then her eyes dart to Abel's bandaged arm] Ah she's injured :( Maybe she got into some accident [Abel gives her a panicked look that Phoebe has never seen her make before] What?

[Abel's look catches Phoebe very off guard since she was heavily expecting a smile for how she was helping pick up her stuff.] Why does she look so panicked??
[Abel gives a response as quickly as she had looked terrified] "Thank you so much I'll be off now!" [Phoebe opened her mouth to speak but Abel's quick walked drowned out her confused voice] "You're... welcome."

Phoebe is left staring as she watches Abel walk off.

Day by day after that passed. The teacher kept making name calls but Abel had been absent for a long time and thus never replied "Here." It had been a few weeks now. What had really happened? Did a bad sickness weaken her this much?
Phoebe was clicking with her pen idly as the clock tick tacked. A door opens. It's Abel. Phoebe knows that she has been worried but as she sees Abel she now realizes VERY MUCH. "Oh my gosh you're back!!" Phoebe ran and hugged her.
Abel: H. WH- AH-?!
Phoebe: OH gosh I'm sorry!!!
Abel was furiously flustered and could not make out full words. Phoebe wanted to make her feel comfortable again as she thought she'd made her really uncomfortable.
Phoebe: I wanted to welcome you back since you'd been gone so long. We're classmates after all!
The class was chatting among each other and snickering about what they'd just seen. It made Abel blush harder in embarrassment.
Abel: T-Thank you..
Phoebe gives a warm smile as her nerves ease by knowing that Abel was okay. She had been worrying if it was her fault somehow since the day Abel stopped coming to school was the day that they had interacted.

Abel: It... didn't fall
Marsh: What's with this stupid vending machine? I payed
Phoebe: Maybe it didn't register? Try pressing the button
[Marsh presses the button] [Nothing happens]
Marsh: ...
Abel: Marsh what are you thinking?
Marsh: I'm gonna shake it
Abel: What?!
Phoebe: It could work!
Abel: WHY would it??
Marsh: I'll do it!
[Marsh shakes the vending machine] [Nothing happens]
Abel: Marsh I'm sorry but I think it may just be broken
[Marsh looks dejected] [Marsh starts to shake the machine more violently as she slaps the side of it]
Abel: Marshy I really don't believe that'll work either
Abel: Phoebe why are you looking like that?
Phoebe: Like what?
[The drink falls out]
Abel: There's no way...
Phoebe is smiling like a dork. "Nice job Marsh!"
Abel: "Phoebe you have such a giddy expression right now."
Phoebe: "Because!! That was so silly of her to do."

Abel: Phoebe do not make Marsh choose the playlist-
Phoebe: Why not? Oh I just clicked her playlist by the way
[MCR starts playing]
Phoebe: Wait.. this note
[Marsh smirking in the backseat]
Marsh: When I was a young boy my father took me to the city
Abel: Why'd you say it like a casual sentence?! The lyrics haven't even arrived yet, please you're so silly
[Phoebe laughing]
Abel: I'm switching the song
[Vanilla Twilight plays] [Abel gets emotional]
Marsh: Abel you can't play a song that makes you emotional when you're DRIVING
Abel: I'm sorry :(
[Alan in the backseat: I should have just walked to school]
Phoebe: My turn!
[Phoebe changes the song to her playlist of Deltarune OST]
Abel: I like this
Marsh: I like this too!
Phoebe: Yay then it's settled!
Alan: Thank god

Phoebe: "Your hair seems soft Marsh, can I try touching it?"
Marsh: "Sure go ahead."
Phoebe ruffles Marsh's hair. "It was true! Fluffy! Woah It's cute!"
Marsh decides to joke. "Is it because I'm short? You think It's cute because I'm short huh?"
Phoebe: "No!! No that's not what I'm saying."
Marsh tries to keep a straight face. "How dare you."
Phoebe: "I didn't mean it like that!!"
Marsh laughs. "Pffthaha! Sorry I was just teasing. You're seem like a good person for caring about something as little as that."
