Vitro

Personality:
Vitro is very dedicated to his sister's well being and is neutral towards anyone else's. He is easily motivated when his sister is brought into the picture of things whether is be for better or for worse. Although he wants to feel sympathetic towards those who are considered beneath him, his past had taught him that the world he lives in is dog-eat-dog. He continues to obey those who have power over him for his sister's sake and isn't one for revenge or grudges. He prefers to move forward and make things better. Although he is very alone and naturally dependent, he feels strange when he does something to treat himself. If there's freetime, there's time to work.

He isn't stone cold, but doesn't open up to others he doesn't need to associate with. Regardless, he still tries to treat others with respect.

Bio:
Coming from a life of poverty and disregard, Vitro and his sister were left to fend for themselves after being abandoned by their parents when Vitro was eight years old, his sister being four. Their parents took the opportunity to live a life of fortune and good health when the government decided to open applications for a selected few of the lower class to move into high society. The night after the names of the applicants were released, the siblings never saw their parents again.

Vitro had to mature fast to care for his sister and keep her fed. Up until the age of thirteen, he lived a life of thievery, though because the separation of low, middle, and high classes were legally and physically forced upon the nation, he didn't earn much for what he was able to take from acquaintances and neighbors. He had to be careful when pawning items off, as many people within his class were close knit and knew of him and his sister. Once thirteen, he was legal to work and signed up for government-given job. After a health and mental test, he was immediately hired to be an assistant to a high class clinical psychologist due to his youth and mental naivety. There, he would simply observe every client the psychologist talked with, diagnosed, and treated and every day, he would be escorted home with enough money for him and his sister to eat for the day.

For the next two months, the lack of Vitro's presence in the pawn shop he religiously pawned items to made the owner of said shop curious as to why. Stopping by the siblings home unannounced one night, the owner discovered the two in better health and living conditions. Greedily, he asked to borrow money from Vitro, but when he was rejected, the owner punched him to the ground. With Vitro's answer still unchanged, the owner broke Vitro's sister's arm, and it was enough for the young boy to agree to lending the owner money.

After that occurrence, Vitro begged the psychologist for proper medical help and protection for his sister. Due to the laws, the higher class were prohibited from helping anyone beneath them unless they were legally connected to the person they were helping. After expressing this, the psychologist could barely hide their amusement in Vitro's cries for help regardless. They then suggested the idea of buying Vitro and his sister. With the psychologist legally owning them, they could help them, and Vitro would be paid in safety and security as long as he continued to work with them for free. Desperate, Vitro accepted was told that they would put in the paperwork to buy them once the work day was done.

Days went by, and the pawn shop owner never ceased to come by Vitro's home and take every last bit of money the boy earned. Every time Vitro would ask when him and his sister would be able to leave the lower class, the psychologist would simply say that the paperwork was still processing. At the end of two weeks of waiting, the pawn shop owner once again arrived to their home, tearing apart their living space and frantically searching for more things of value. When he couldn't find anything and Vitro expressed that they had nothing more than the usual money for him, he broke both of Vitro's sister's legs. All of this happened only mere second before law enforcement broke into the home with the psychologist by their side. With a simple "he maimed my property" from them, the owner was dragged away to the sound of Vitro's cries as he held onto his then unconscious sibling. She was able to receive medical care that very night.

Flash forward a few years. Vitro's sister had since remained in a wheelchair, and Vitro has become the psychologist right hand boy- soon to be man. When it came to work, Vitro shadowed his teacher no matter the morality of the situation. Inwardly, he was neutral towards his and their doings until arriving home with them. He often spent a great deal of time with his sister, and expressed his true feelings of remorse towards some of the things he did, only confiding in her, in fear being tossed to the wolves by the psychologist. She did her best to comfort him, but has a difficult time with feeling sympathy towards others since she was very young, and especially now.

Before Vitro's eighteenth birthday, the psychologist sat him down and told him of a surgery that could possible bring back the usage of his sister's legs. Excited about the idea of his sister being able to live her own life and feel proud of doing things on her own, he couldn't have wanted anything more for her. The psychologist told him that he wouldn't be able to pay for the procedure due to more laws in regard to the siblings, but shared that there were a team of scientists looking for volunteers for their latest body modification experiments. Him volunteering would cover the cost as long as he was eighteen. Without a thought, he asked if it was okay for him to apply the day of his birthday, and the answer was yes.

After the day he volunteered, he was put in an induced coma for several months for the sake of painless procedures and experiments. When he awoke, he was startled to find his body was only partly his own. He was heavier, and most of his skin was still his own, but felt like it was blanketed over metal. Parts of his body were completed replaced by thin but sturdy glass filled with some sort of liquid, while over parts being entirely robotic. Vitro was given a sedative before we woke so he wouldn't act rash and possibly damage himself or the surrounding equipment. Although he was physically a shell of himself, he took it well enough and asked to see his sister. Surrounding scientists explained that he wouldn't be able to see her right away, but would be able to video call her.

To his surprise, he had been unconscious for 2 years, and his sister was alive and well. She showed him her legs, and despite being similar to how she was but a little older, her legs looked like his own, robotic. Despite this, she expressed how amazing it was to have them, and how she was able to become dependent ever since her surgery, but was also shocked to see him in his current state. He was elated for her, and told her that he was okay, although feeling strange in his new body. Regardless, he didn't regret was he did for her.

For a month he was put through harmless mental and physical testing. Afterwards, he was allowed to continue living with the psychologist- who gratefully welcomed him back- as long as he would return to the testing grounds bi-monthly for a day of testing. Ever since, he's been doing just that.

Additional:
+The liquid within his glass body parts are his power source. Anything organic that he eats will turn into said fluid.
+His fluids get flushed and replaced during his bi-monthly visits to the scientists. The longer the fluid sits, the less effective it becomes.
+Unbeknownst to him, he also has the ability to freeze and blast a cold fire from his hands.
+He can still feel pain, but he can easily be repaired, he often suffers from the freezing affects of his abilities.
+Generally, his machinery regulates his body temperature.
+He hasn't found his parents since joining the high society, but knows that the pawn shop owner from his past is dead.
+He still lives with the psychologist but has stopped working for them ever since the body modification experiments. His sister has already moved out.
+He hopes to live on his own completely.
+He feels something is off about the psychologist but doesn't want to investigate unless he buys his freedom back.
+He enjoys feeling safe and being able to relax but often feels like there is something wrong when he's able to.
+He refuses to deal with the leave of his parents and prefers to think they never existed in the first place.
