THE DEATH OF A JESTER
After Carnival encountered Flint and Needle cuddling in the forest he was patroling with Storyteller, he became blinded by rage. The one he loved and thought he would spend an eternity with, suddenly was taken from him. He became corrupted by anger, that his anchor shattered, becoming a goopy substance that was a mangled mess of all his trauma and emotions. Malfunction, to be exact.
THE STORM
Malfunction immediately murdered Needle the moment he fully corrupted Carnival, Storyteller tried to calm him, but she was kicked away as Malfunction escaped into the forest. He corrupted every single spirit he encountered by simply touching them, spreading like an awful virus and building up his army.
Storyteller tried to gather up a group of her 'friends' to find a way to make Malfunction snap out of it, but nothing was working. Carnival was gone, he drowned in his own emotions while Malfunction rampaged on. Malfunction was trying to gather an army to take down 'the god of the spirit realm', thinking that the constant mortal/spirit cycle would bring nothing but pain, though he was ultimately locked away, Storyteller becoming corrupted while fighting him and chaining him into a lake.
