Overview
Dion had a relatively normal upbringing. The only extraordinary thing that happened to him was meeting Fenfen... he had been outside, watching a meteor shower, when the cleffa just fell from the sky. The two clicked immediately, with Dion taking her home and formally catching her in a pokeball. After that, he was sure he wanted to be a pokemon trainer... not just a trainer, but one day, a gym leader.
Academy Applications
Still, it wasn't that simple. The region was at a war, and pokemon trainers were recruited to be either Team Brain or Team Brawn and trained at a special academy. Dion had no interest in war, but the academy was still the best way to achieve his dream... there was a slight hiccup when he failed the initial entrance test, but after demanding that Fenfen also be given a test of her own, he was allowed in.
Even so, he still had to get to the school. He joined up with a group of other trainers- Dante, Medora, and Zira, though they were also joined by Marcus and Leo in their journeys. Dion got along well enough with the group- though, he did immediately butt heads with Dante. As an effort for the other to not see him as a chicken, he accepted a ride on Dante's drifloon, which ended up separating him from the group for a bit... oops!
Gym Badge Hunt
Dion met back up with everyone outside the academy- Dante's drifloon had actually proven to be helpful, letting him fast travel. Once at the school, all new trainers were assigned into Team Brain or Brawn, with the exception of the aforementioned group, who were all placed in a special team- Team Soul. Dion was thrilled about this turn of events- a team not linked directly with the war! A small group! Surely, this meant they were all special and would bring peace to the region!
