Overview

hyacinth was raised in a garlean occupied territory as a young child, with just him, his parents, and his two much older brothers. one day, garlean soldiers came to arrest his parents, and took his older brothers. the young hyacinth was hidden inside of a basket by his brothers, who knew they were going to be taken. a family friend came for him after the coast was clear, and hyacinth was smuggled out of the country. he spent some time bouncing around between various people and childrens' homes, before he ended up in the sharlayan colony in dravania. he spent several years here before the colony fell, taking an interest in magic as a young boy. he was never friendly with the other children his age, and had a lot of issues with anger and disobedience. he did as he pleased, often staying out. he made friends with a few younger students when the colony evacuated and he was brought along back to old sharlayan, and began to seriously practice magic around age eleven. he was admitted to the academia, where he fervently studied several disciplines, taking in any information he possibly could. he began to sneak into the forbidden sections of the libraries whenever he could, eventually mastering enough magic that he could enter with a lessened chance of being caught. he decided he would master forbidden magicks, still wanting to take vengenance on those who took his family from him at a young age.
