So this is not the direction I thought the yuki-onna plotline was going but here goes
Y-O’s daughter was taken by a Korean gangster and his posse. The plan was to sell her to the highest bidder, but he was enamored with her beauty. He was looking for ways to justify taking her to his father when he discovered her tears became gemstones they could sell.
His father, a powerful Korean mafia member ( whatever theyre called ) was just knowledgable enough about the supernatural world to put his toe in, but nothing more. He’s an honorable and suspicious person.
So FN came and rescued the girl. Part of the rescue was a warning to the father to either stick out of the yokai’s world, or be VERY aware that he better mind his Ps and Qs if he wanted he or the rest of his family to live.
YO’s daughter cursed the man who took her, freezing his eyes into similar gemstones to the ones she cried. “You love my tears so much, now they will be all you SEE!”
Fast forward a few years
He comes to the mountain. Understandably, gets surrounded by YO’s ready to kill when he pleads that he’s here to repent and make up for his past misdeeds. They allow the daughter to choose what to do with him. She hears him out.
So his family sold the tears. FN let them keep them, all the ones she cried right up until they rescued her, and theyve become much more embroiled in the world of yokai. Unfortunately, they’re also the only ones with a stash of yuki onna tears. People are getting greedy.
He wants to set up near the mountain and defend it. The YO’s argue they can protect themselves. Yes, you’re right, he says, but if they set foot on this mountain they’ve gone too far.
Most of this conversation happens later at the Inn Aisha and her dad own. Aisha is the mediator, along with 1 or 2 other FN members.
A deal is struck. Naturally shed YO tears for the protection, though he says he would remain without them.
Anyway him and the daughter eventually fall in love and marry. She leaves the mountain to be with him, though she’s free to return.
The YO village is a little open. _A little_.
So that’s not where I thought this was going.
He always wears sunglasses and tinted glasses, except around the YO’s and his wife.
