Beetlewing is a young warrior in the Clan of Dawn. They're known for their ability to make high jumps and reach the furthest branches of the tallest trees. They're also mates with the medicine cat, in a secret relationship with her.
They're a cheerful cat with a very positive attitude. Even amidst the most tense moments in life, they easily manage to keep a smile on their face and pursue the most positive route, solving problems with ease through confidence and hope. Despite being not so great at fighting, they're extremely good at hunting, especially with fast animals like rabbits or squirrels. Beetlewing also loves bugs and shares their fascination about them with their mate Pigeontail.

Trivia
Beetlewing is a pretty young warrior. They lack the experience that seniors have, but they're still clever enough to come up with ideas that the other warriors pay attention to, especially when it comes to hunting. Perhaps in due time, they'll become a well-respected deputy.
- Their name comes from their brown spotted pelt, reminding their mother of beetles as she too shared a fascination about bugs.
- They have a petty relationship with their brother but not from their side; rather, it's their brother Ratnose who keeps teasing Beetlewing to no end. Despite it, though, they do love each other and share a good sibling bond.
- They have a secret relationship with their mate Pigeontail, due to her being a medicine cat and therefore forbidden to fall in love with any cat.
- Being born a male, Beetlewing now identifies as having no gender, coming out to the Clan about it as soon as they became a warrior. They now use gender neutral pronouns exclusively, and they've been happier than ever since.
Story
Past
Beetlekit had a simple childhood alongside with their brother Ratkit. Sharing a teasing relationship and growing up to always wanting to impress the other, it didn't make them jealous of one another, but actually helped them to become healthily competetitive and inspired them both to want to learn everything about being a warrior just to see who can impress the Clan more.
As an apprentice, Beetlepaw was assigned a good mentor, who taught them mostly about learning to hunt all kinds of prey: mammals, lizards, fish and birds alike. However, they weren't able to learn about fighting techniques too much, but the Clan couldn't care less about Beetlepaw being perfect in everything; they hunted to feed the Clan properly, and that's sometimes what matters most.
Whilst in their apprenticeship, Beetlepaw started talking more to Pigeonpaw, the medicine cat apprentice back then, and they quickly fell in love with each other. Pigeontail became a fully named medicine cat just a moon before Beetlewing received their warrior name, and shortly after, they officially became mates, but in secret from the rest of the Clan. Beetlewing also came out as non-binary, and the Clan quickly adapted to respecting the young warrior's newly chosen pronouns.
Beetlewing and Pigeontail shared many moments while making sure they didn't ever have kits so that they wouldn't get caught. While Pigeontail was away on her important journey, Beetlewing missed their mate, but they stayed hopeful as they knew that she would survive anything. And, when their mate came back from her mission to save the Clan after many moons, Beetlewing felt proud to be the young medicine cat's mate, regardless of how secret their relationship had to be.
Present
Beetlewing is currently a regular young warrior in the Clan of Dawn. They live a peaceful life of hunting to feed their clanmates, while being with Pigeontail still in secret. Perhaps when Blizzardstar is no longer leader, they'll feel safer to reveal their secret, but currently, it's best that Beetlewing only shares time with their mate at night, when no one else can see them snuggling on each other.
Relationships
Despite having to share their relationship in secret, this hasn't stopped Beetlewing from loving her to no end. They chat at night before going to sleep to their separate nests, and perhaps that's just enough to make them both happy.
For most of their life, they've been very close to each other, especially during kithood. They still haven't lost their shared rivalness, and it even helps them both to keep wanting to learn and impress the Clan more.
