Conner The Hedgehog

Background: This is the first ever OC I’ve ever made. I remember it very vividly. I was a kid, who loved Sonic growing up. And once I discovered the internet, I saw people make fan OCs of Sonic characters. Seeing speed paints from art programs or Microsoft paint was so cool to see. It blew my mind so much that I wanted to do the same. I remember my tedious process. I took a pic of some Sonic references, got them in Microsoft paint, and just recolored them. Keep in mind, I was a kid. Connor was made, based off Sonic. I thought he looked cool and decided to make more. I had like a recolored Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and so on. It was a fun time. Then cut to in my mid teens. I cringe so badly at my old characters that I threw them away. However, I kept Connor since he was the first and I didn’t wanna lose that. So I kept him, and left him in a back burner. Then Sonic Forces came out and I decided to use it to create a new Connor. And with some touch ups in the old Microsoft Paint Apple Knockoff, a new Connor was born. He has been with me ever since. I ain’t letting this guy go anytime soon.

Thought Process: If I can recall, my thought process back in the day was to make such a cool guy. Leather jacket, quills, and markings all over. Again, I was a kid. Being in leather jacket was considered being a cool kid. Then the shoes were just green, but with the white stripe going vertical instead of horizontal. And I think the gloves were fingerless. Can’t recall. I liked how he looked back then, but now, jeez he is clearly Deviantart levels of redraw. So with Sonic Forces, I went with a different approach. I got the same skin color, eye color, and red marking colors. But for the clothes, I went with the jacket, but a simple one. Not biker levels of cool. And gave him green Sonic Boom shoes with sports tape. And the red markings are different this time around. I also gave him a headset to have a sort of accessory with him. And there, he was complete. Feeling much more fresh and new. He was still that cool guy as a kid, but now as my level of cool.

Present Occupation: Online Streamer - He likes to stream himself playing games or making music. Generally give folks a great time to lighten up their day.

Music Store Employee - He works at a music store, selling vinyl records, cassette tapes, instruments, and so on. He likes the atmosphere and energy the business brings. 

Currently Residing: He resides in Station Square, near Twinkle Park, a place he regularly visits for the arcade machines and other fun activities. 

Likes: 

Music - He practically loves every genre, owning a lot of physical and digital media to play. In the background while working or walking out in the streets, he listens to them. It gets him in a happy mood.

Guitars - Out of all the instruments, he loves to play the guitar the most. The energy the instrument brings gets him fired up. Nothing can’t beat the most popular instrument.

Jokes - With an audience, he would make some witty banter by making jokes. And a lot of people do find his humor pretty good. 

Dislikes: 

Hackers - He hates people that try to hack into his stuff to steal his info or money. So he made a lot of security measures to prevent them.

Scammers- He does a lot of donation streams, either to fund his stuff or for charity. And hates it when people try to lie about donating money or refund it after donating. He makes sure the money stays. 

Fake Musicians - He hates folks that don’t put any effort in their music. Either folks just phoning it in, using a lot of editing to make themselves sound good, or just using AI Generated voices. It defeats the purpose of making music, where it speaks from the heart.

Skills: 

Music Making - He is quite skilled at composing music, even writing his lyrics here and there. His music gets a decent amount of attention, which makes him happy to see.

Strength - It may not look like it, but he does have some muscle. Can’t be a rockstar if you can’t lift. He can also pack quite a punch. He know how to defend himself.

Editing - He is pretty good at editing his own videos. Usually to make small music videos or to keep his streaming quality top notch. He does pay folks to help him out, but he mostly does it himself to get his vision truly perfected. 

Aresenal: 

Guitar - Believe it or not, his guitar is a weapon. In case he needs to fight back, he will pull out his trusty guitar and take down foes. It is equipped with lasers, and can be good at knocking out foes. It’s very durable so it’s not gonna break down anytime soon. 

History: 

Connor grew up in a humble town, full of kind folks and neighbors. He got into the music genre when he was in school, where he saw some older, cool kids bringing boomboxes and dancing to the music. The music that those kids chose wowed him, so he went to check it out from himself. He ended up finding them on the internet, either through unofficial reuploading and “downloads.” That experience made him want to rock out like the musicians did. So he went out of his way to learn them. Tutuorials online, band practice, and free music classes got him there. He gained a lot of experience and felt confident in his new skills. 

Cut to present day. He moved out and got himself a small apartment. Found a job he can easily fit into and funded a mini studio out of the place. It may be small, but he’s gotta start somewhere. Since then, he made some great friends along the way. They loved his music and he was thankful for that. Connor would soon get enough funds to get some equipment and start online streams. He got an audience that loved him and his work. He really felt he found his calling. And the rest is history.
