    Current age: 2 years and 8 months

Birthday: April 12, 45 BC

Species: Ocelot

    Weight:30 pounds

    Height: 20 inches

Appearance: Tam is about three feet tall, and fully grown. He has messy bangs,  which usually get into his striking blue eyes. His legs are around  medium length, and he has a long tail. He has a scratch on his chin,  from his father, and a few scars on his front paw, from many injuries.

Armour: Tam's armour is well suited for night travel, because of it's dark  color. It has a black metal collar, and attached to the collar is a dark  grey cloak. The grey cloak has several blue stones in it, making it a  bit heavier. Underneath his cloak are a few black leather plates to  protect his back.

    Recessive traits: Light underbelly/muzzle/paws, white spot on back of ears, spots all over body

    Carrier traits: Green eyes, redish pelt, black stripe down back

PERSONALITY:

 {Stubborn}{Ambitious}{Quiet}{Open minded}{Loyal}{Easily irritated}

{Stubborn:}

Tam  has been stubborn since birth. If his mother were still alive, and you  were to ask her about it, she would tell you many stories about Tam's  stubbornness issues. Those issues unfortunately didn't go away as he  grew up, so sometimes they can be hindering, and cause other cats not to  like him as much. He in fact has ruined several relationships with  other cats, just by getting in the mindset of not wanting to do what the  other cat may very much want to do. He dislikes doing things other cats  consider 'fun' as well as any activity he considers frivolous. Listen,  if Tam doesn't want to do something, the chances of getting him to do it  are slim to none.

{Ambitious:}

Tam has always felt a  strong desire to succeed. While his determination is more quiet than  others, it still burns very strongly within him. He doesn't feel the  need to express his ambitions out loud, because he only feels like he  should hear them. One of them is becoming a gladiator, because he knows  he'll be able to help his empire even more so once he is ranked up.  Sometimes he'll put training in front of everything else, but he isn't  known to overwork too often. His previous mentor, Zola, helped him with  his training, by pushing him to work harder. He ended up spending more  time training with her than spending time meeting new cats--though he  didn't do that much to begin with. When his mentor disappeared, he only  wanted to become a gladiator more, to prove to Zola that he was a useful  cat to the empire.

{Quiet:}

To Tam, the less words spoken, the better. He is a cat of very few words, but in the past year, he has tried (emphasis on tried)  to open up a little more and be better at conversations. He thinks he's  gotten better, but he is still unsure. He would rather not talk at all,  but the cats he meets obviously don't have the same opinion. You  certainly won't see this cat talking his head off anytime soon, though.

{Oblivious:}

Tam  really doesn't notice certain things. Like flirting- he just doesn't  get that a girl might like him, or is just flirting for fun. Almost one  hundred percent of the time, he doesn't even realize someone is hinting  something, or flirting with him. He also is oblivious to sarcasm, and  usually takes it seriously.

{Open Minded:}

Tam  isn't as oblivious at he used to be. While in the past, he didn't notice  things such as flirting, sarcasm, and jokes, he is now very aware of  them. Just because he's aware of them, though, doesn't mean he  understand them. If he doesn't know if a cat is flirting with him or  not, he will most likely ask them if they are doing so with him. He  occasionally with try to make jokes, but isn't very good at them yet.

{Loyal:}

The  ocelot doesn't seem to be the most loyal cat at first, but once you  earn his trust--which is a very slow, and long process--he would do  almost anything to protect you. He has trust issues, so it isn't an easy  thing to do. So far, only one cat has managed to break through Tam's  barrier, though the cat is unaware so far. That said cat was once a cat  Tam basically hated, so his hard work paid off. Having Tam be loyal to  you has many benefits, because he'll make sure you take care of  yourself, and don't do anything stupid. If you said you wanted to jump  off a bridge, he'd look you in the eyes and tell you that it's the  stupidest thing he's ever heard, and that you're going to die if you do  it.

{Easily Irritated:}

Tam has found himself irritated at  the simplest things, sometimes, and that has caused many cats not to  like him as much. Maybe it's the personalities of everyone else, but he  just finds them annoying. Especially the ones who stick around so much,  trying to befriend him. Look, he doesn't want anymore friends, because  he's afraid he'll lose them or they'll die. So he acts out, to try to  keep them away from him.

BACKSTORY:

 Before the Empires:

Tam's  mother, Linh, was about one of the only things in Tam's life that could  be called 'Happy'. His father, Fintan, hated the young ocelot at birth.  He was cold and demeaning, never showing much attention toward Tam.  Linh, though, was the happiest mother alive. She and her son had a very  close relationship, but unfortunately, she fought in the coliseum  battles. Tam loved watching his mother fight in the battles, maybe  because she always won, or because she knew some fantastic fighting  moves. But one time, everything went wrong.

Linh was fighting  against a Snow Leopard much younger than her, and the cat killed her  quite brutally.. and of course, Tam saw the whole thing happen. He  panicked, crying, running back to where his father was, in a building  they stayed in with their humans. He told Fintan that she had died, and  his father, who had never liked Tam, disowned him, telling Tam that no  son of his would ever be crying over some silly death. Fintan told Tam  to get out, and after that, Tam wandered around the city for days,  before finally leaving. He found the forest nearby amazing, and a Fire  Empire patrol found him, waking him up while he was sleeping. He was  surprised, but accepted their offer for him to stay there.

Arriving at Fire Empire:

It  took some getting used to, being at Fire Empire. There were so many  cats who wanted to know about him, so the first few days there he didn't  do anything but avoid other cats. But after a few nights of restless  sleep, and terrible nightmares, he decided to go out and walk around the  territory. He ended up finding a beautiful lake, and meeting the first  cat he would call his friend, Remus. Remus and him talked for a  little while, and decided to go swimming in the lake. Tam left, almost  happy. He didn't know if he considered Remus a friend yet, but it was a  good start.

Soon after that day, Tam met Velus, a fun  loving Asian Golden Cat, who encouraged Tam to loosen up and have a  little more fun. Tam was hesitant to listen to the advice, and ending up  not taking it to heart. He had just met this cat, and didn't know him  that well. So he decided not to listen. Who was Velus to tell him what  to do? Aelia was the next cat he met, who was almost as friendly  as Velus. He went hunting with her, and they caught a deer together.  They didn't talk too much to each other that day, but she seemed like a  nice cat.

Tam was wakened up by Halcyon one day while  taking a nap, and somehow they ended up training by Lake Blackwater. Tam  didn't like Halcyon at all, but at least he got some good training out  of meeting him.

His first gathering approached, and his mentor was announced. Her name was Zola, who shouted out to try to find him during the gathering. She was with a friend, and another apprentice called Mars.  Tam wasn't sure if he liked his new mentor or not, since she seemed  very intense. Mars didn't seem to like her that much, but then again,  Zola didn't seem to like Mars either.

Tam happened to stumble  upon Mars again, after some training with Zola. She was gathering some  things for her blacksmith apprentice duties, and he decided to help her.  Well, and also talk to her about getting some armour. Things that  day...did not go very well. It wasn't that Mars was annoying or  anything, it was that bad things seemed to happen to them after meeting  each other. It started with something very simple, with him tripping  over a branch, and spraining his ankle. Nothing big, but things seemed  to escalate after that. Tam said that things couldn't get worse...and  they stumbled upon a very angry bear. They managed to escape, but they  lost everything they had collected. They stopped to try to collect some  more sticks, but a tree branch fell on Mars. He got the thing off of  her, but ended up stepping in some thorns, further injuring his paw.  Mars went to get them something to eat, and instead ended up with a face  full of porcupine. They came back to camp injured and exhausted, and  avoided each other after that.

He spent that day and the next  resting, and his friends found out what happened. Tam didn't want any  help, but Remus, Velus, and Aelia didn't listen, and tried to help him.  They went to gather some moss for him to sleep on, and Remus met up with  Halcyon to find Tam some food to eat, and they went fishing together.  Tam slept until they came back, and reluctantly thanked them.

Tam's  time with this new-found squad wasn't very long, because all three of  his first friends went missing. He was angry, and at the same time, very  sad. This seemed to prove exactly why he didn't want to make friends.  Just as he started to get close, they were gone. And there was nothing he could do about it.

His mentor, Zola went missing, and Tam was assigned a new mentor. Her name was Mitsu,  and she seemed to be the polar opposite of Zola. She was very relaxed  and calm, and liked to make a strange drink, called 'tea'. He didn't  know what to think about her, especially since she liked to spend more  time relaxing than training. But she provided good advice, so maybe she  wasn't that bad.

He soon met Mitsu's mate, Spartan, while  doing a border patrol. They found a stale scent, and it belonged to  Remus. Both were excited, since Remus was Spartan's apprentice, and  Tam's friend, before he went missing. They had to give up, since the  scent was a few weeks old, and it was no use trying to find him. Remus  was gone, and Tam had to accept that.

Tam's 'friend', Halycon,  didn't seem to want to leave Tam alone. He thought that if he just kept  trying, Tam would let him be his best friend, even though Tam made it  very clear that he didn't like Halcyon. But somehow? Tam opened up a  little to the blind cat, showed him a small slimmer of why he was the  way he was. Halycon had found Tam in a field of flowers, and Tam  admitted that he used to love them, since his mother, Linh, liked them.  He even let Halcyon make him a necklace of flowers, and left, almost  giving Halycon a smile. It wasn't like Halcyon could see him smiling,  right? He was blind.

He meet a friend of Halcyon's, Ophelia,  while following a caravan he was about to raid. It seemed like she had  been following the caravan too, and after getting a few things from it,  he mentioned how he didn't like Halcyon. Ophelia told Tam to give  Halcyon a chance, and he thought about it.

Someone from Lighting Empire had somehow wandered close to Fire Empire, causing Tam to meet the bright and cheerful Rey.  She could tell he was in a bad mood, so she tried to lift it, so they  went swimming, and looked for pretty rocks. She was pretty, and Tam  could see himself getting a small crush on her, but pushed it away. She  was from another empire, and that was forbidden. He cared too much about  his empire to like someone from another one. So when he left, he pushed  any slight feelings that might be developing away. Out of sight, out of  mind.

He met Seerah after doing some hunted, and didn't  like her. It had rained recently, and she was playing in a huge area of  mud. He hated mud, and all she seemed interested in was getting him to  play in the mud too. He chased him for a little while, and he tried  every way he could think of to stop from being pelted with mud. It  worked in the end, and they went together a river, so she could wash  off. She ended up getting fed up with his attitude, and gave him some  advice. "Continue the way you are and you might not have anyone." He  took those words to heart, even if Seerah was sure he just ignored the  advice.

He was forced to go on a hunted patrol with Mars, and as  you can guess, things went terribly, though this time Mars came back  more hurt than Tam. He went back to camp to send some cats back to take  care of her, since he knew if he stayed with her she might get hurt even  more. They really were cursed.

He had many daily encounters with  Halcyon, Seerah, Spartan, and even Ophelia. But he never said much to  them, just continued to go out on his own as usual.

Fire Empire's leader, Kestrel,  announced that they would be moving camp, to stay out of the raider  with the Bounty Hunters. It was a hard move, and he helped as much as he  could. He liked the new camp, but missed the old one greatly. He even  tried to mend things with Seerah, and met a few new faces.

Halcyon  annoyed Tam greatly one day, and he just had to get away from all the  other cats, to let his guard down and get some well deserved alone time.  The past few days he had gotten almost no alone time, and that was  stressful to him. He went to the one place where he was able to think  clearly, Blackwater Lake. The lake that held so many good memories, it  was so calming and peaceful to be there. But he wasn't aware of the  cruel eyes watching him, and had to fight for his life.

A Bounty Hunter had come to capture him, and he had been caught with his guard down.

Tam  wasn't able to escape, even though he had many chances to run away. But  his pride was too strong, and he was either going to beat her, or be  captured. So the hunter held him underwater long enough so that he lost  consciousness.

Thus, Tam found himself back in the city, locked in a cage.
