ynie had no desire to be the final hope for Skyrim. She never sought to be venerated as a symbol for the whole of Tamriel - but by a twist of fate or a cruel joke, that's exactly what she became.

Born to a Breton mother and an Altmer father, Lynie spent the majority of her childhood traveling between Daggerfall and Alinor, her summers spent in Shimmerene. Her natural aptitude for Magicka was impressive, and she was always ahead of the curve in terms of knowledge.

Her father, a devoted Thalmor advocate, pushed her to submit her application to Gwylim University in Cyrodiil shortly before her 19th birthday, as the Imperial City was still healing from the White-Gold Concordat. He was certain that it would reinforce her loyalty to the Thalmor, knowing the influence they had over the University.

After being accepted to the University, Lynie launched into her research on the history of Tamriel - delving into the ancient races that once inhabited the continent, including the Atmorans, Dwemer, Nedes, and Ayleids. She began her journey in the Imperial City, and by her second year, she had been invited to the University's satellite campus in Solitude.

Whilst crossing the border into Skyrim, Lynie was caught up in a bloody altercation between the rebel Stormcloaks and the Imperials.  Unable to validify her claims, she was arrested on suspicion of rebel correspondence, and loaded onto a cart headed for Helgen.
