Bartholomew grew up in the slums learning to steal, beg, and fight as soon as he was able to walk.
His life changed when an old man caught him stealing from his small jewelery shop. Instead of calling the cops, a strange and unlikely friendship formed between the pair and the man took him under his wing to show him the value of work and the art of gemology. Bartholomew craved this new way of life and study, and took to it quickly.
He was suddenly taken while working at the shop one day by a gang, mistaking him for the owner. He's unwillingly forced to work as an appraiser for their hauls, uncertain if he'll ever be able to return that quiet shop corner he's grown to call home.
