DeathKins-

Deathkins were originally Human Children born with an incredibly rare illness. The bodies began to rot from the inside out. In fear of losing them, the parents of these poor souls made a deal with the being known only as the Queen of Kin to spare their lives.

The Queen is an enigmatic magical being who can seemingly grant any wish or desire. Though she does have a preference for good old "True love conquers all" sort of spell clauses. She also seems to be a strong believer in "Every Conquest brings Destruction" as well. Most refer to them as a sort of Goddess and claim she's really the harbinger of ruin and calamity also known as the Almighty End. Others believe the Queen is only a Disguise for the Pure One, Creator of magic and is in fact truly the King/Ruler (In a genderless sense) of the OtherRelm and Twin Sibling of the End. In either case they are a powerful being.

The Queen granted that wish but at a terrible price. The children became walking death. Their bodies began to produce a poisonous fog around them. The fog is not why they where named Deathkin however as it is only slightly sickening to be around. The real danger is the child themselves. The very body and blood of the Kin is brimming with poisonous energy and forbidden magic. If one is not a Deathkin themselves or has the rare neutralizer gift they will die with the slightest touch.

The Queen laid out a few simple rules on how to break the Deathkin Curse.

1. When a kin and a Human neutralizer fall in love, true love born only in absolute care and devotion for each other can the Curse ever be broken.

2. The Human and the kin must search high and low for the four greatest poisons in the world. Delphine, Mythine, Wiltsin, and Falzine.

3. Once gathered they must prepare the poisons into a meal of their choice. Then they must eat the meal together.

4. If one of them fails to eat the meal then both shall die. But if they come together to find they shall live by the Grace of the Kin Queen.

THIS IS THE OATH OF DEATH

By finishing it the lovers are reborn as Poison Testers, beings who can together create or cure illness. They are often considered miracle workers and lesser Gods at this point as Poison Testers travel the worlds over to protect and save lives from that which feeds or grows Dark magical energy.

Kin seek a perfect partner forever more now to share in it and gain love. For them this ritual has become a romantic quest while most others look at it in terms of foolish Destruction. Most who have tried have fail to complete the last part. Those who do become Poison testers becoming more then human and tend to leave the human world behind at some point or another.

DeathKin are childlike normally and wish to seek out contact with other living things. Sadly due to their bodies that is impossible. They usually send their whole lives looking for someone to care and love.

One can tell a Deathkin by looks alone. They seem to have a fog hanging around them constantly. Physically speaking weaker Deathkins do not look all that off from normal humans. All Deathkins have oddly colored fingers and toes, have tinted lips stained with the color of their poison, and are prone to have heavy bags under the eyes. They tend to shape the fog around them into fake wings or other sorts of forms.

Powerful Deathkins seemed to have gained extra magical power and become closer in appearance to monstrous beings though this is mostly just a magical disguise created from the fog as well. Though sometimes the fog condenses enough that it can become and produce small monsters or familiars.

Some do grow wings on occasion, though this is rare and usually only found in Deathkins who have never taken a life.

Neutralizers-
A rare type of human who is immune system to a deathkin's touch. They don't usually look all that different from human except for a Glowing ring of energy around a part of their bodies that seems to make poisons and magics dissipate slightly. They also can gain the same oddly colored fingers of a Deathkin if they spent time around poisons.

If a Neutralizers heart is wicked they tend to have creaks in their rings and cause the poisons of a Deathkin to become even deadlier. The very Fog becomes a blanket of death if that was to happen. These wicked hearts are less likely to complete the Oath too.

Once they establish the pact of Death with a Deathkin they too can use the poison magic freely by becoming a Poison Tester. This has an added benefit of making that Deathkin safe to touch. To put it simply once the pact is made the two can control the poison fog together ending the Deathkin curse and saving lives from said type of poison and plagues.

Poison Testers-
Pairs of Nullifiers and Deathkin who completed the Pact of Death. They are granted Immortality and greater magic. They often both grow anywhere from 2 to 12 real wings with the fog like most coming from the wings and sometimes gain orbs of Condensed Poison or Curative energy floating around them instead of the fog. The rings of a Neutralizer seems to double and the Deathkin also becomes adorn with a matching Ring.

Plagues-
Deathkin or Neutralizers who fail the Oath. They become sickly bringers of calamity twisted into a more demon like form. They are spiteful and enraged. Endlessly hunting down for the reborn soul of the one who failed to complete the oath... And killing everyone who stands in their way.

They tend to grow wing stubs or no wings at all. They are also invisible to human eyes or take the appearances of small children. In order to directly interact with the world a plagues soul seeks out a person (again usually a small child) who has died and inhabits their body. Their fingers and toes are black and they tend to have spotted bruises up and down the body along with intricate markings. While in the host body a plague cannot talk or else the poison in them becomes a wave of Vile fog. They prefer to play games with the mortals beneath them and like to prolong the suffering as punishment to all who allowed them to suffer such a fate.

*I didn't want to use actual poisons as that might be a bit too much so let's consider the four great Poisons above to be representations of that which goes wrong in relationships: Disrespect, Jealousy, Mistrust ,and Faithlessness.

* Some worlds and countries do use Deathkins as weapons of war while others treat them like abominations to be slaughtered. A DeathKin enlisted for war is conditioned to show more skin and move quickly in order to be a better weapon. They often fill jobs as assassins or are sent out in small groups to crush armies. Those who are not war trained like to cover up their skin and are far more skittish around others.

* Deathkins can fall in love with their own kind and the same goes for Neutralizers. However they can never break the curse or stop the poison they produce if they choose each other over the chance to be freed by the Oath.
