Berrian

"You here to fight, huh?"

As a corrupt government official from the captial, Berrian enjoys the spot they've managed to carve themselves in the world. They have a good income, enough to enjoy some of the finer aspects of city life without having too much to be noticeable. The fact that that income comes from bribes and threats is none of their business really. That's just how the world works and if you're not one of the people taking advantage of others, you're one of the ones being exploited.

When they were younger, Berrian earned their living by fighting in underground fighting rings. Then, a ghost of one of their ancestors showed up and wouldn't leave them alone until they got a 'proper job'.

Frustration

Verdi

She is SO patronizing and annoying. Berrian cannot stand how she treats them and everyone else other than Ald like children.

Ald

Almost as patronizing as Verdi. Thinks he knows better than everyone else.

Poor sod

Tsaborvir

The group's cartographer who seems to be constantly confused and lost despite being astoundedly good at making maps. Berrian was planning to ignore the fool but is starting to feel pity for him. They might be projecting a bit.

Theif

Lerissa

A teifling with 0 understanding of boundries. At first Berrian thought she might be the most reasonable member of the party but soon changed their opinion. She's horrible.

Campaign Summary

Rough Roads [ GM: yonah ]

Due to some sabotage by their rival to edge Berrian out of a promotion they were both competing for, Berrian was sent on an assignment to the middle of nowhere. Their task was to, along with a group of other adventurers and unlucky fools, clear the way and chart out any potential dangers for a new road planned to be built linking the Tebelond Empire to the neighboring Biluk Empire through the Ritayn Forest. Berrian wants to get this over with as fast as possible but their companions have goals of their own...

After a delayed start due to Verdi needing to do some (fruitless) investigation, Berrian was finally forced to leave the comforts of civilization and go into, ugh, nature. And ugh, nature was the right was to describe it. The trip down the river the road was to be built next to was riddled with bugs, noise, annoying comments, large dogs attacking in the middle of the night, and travel rations.

Their second week of traveling started out even worse. The party found, of all things, a dead body washed up in the river. Gross! It turned out to be the very person Verdi had been looking for. After a tearful funeral, she and Ald swore vengeance on the dastardly people who would dare do such a thing. Or something. It wasn't really any of Berrian's business and they didn't pay much attention to it beyond what was needed to get them to get back on track faster. At least that's what they thought. Not long after the party recieved news their employer had been murdered. Happy to be free of their responsiblities earlier than expected, Berrian was ready to head back, but the rest of the lunatics in the party wanded to continue? And track the murderers? AND THOSE VERY MURDERERS HAD BEEN FOLLOWING THE PARTY THE WHOLE TIME? Berrian couldn't believe it but with no way to get back on their own (they had NOT been paying attention to the path they took) they had to stick with the party.

With some spellwork from Tsaborvir the party managed to track down a lost but seemingly well intentioned dragonborn as well as a suspicious group of travelers Verdi immediately decided must be responsible for the murder. Berrian thought this was way too rushed of a conclusion but couldn't be bothered to argue with it and jumped right into killing them. They managed to leave one of the three alive and after a session of questioning got some useless information pertinant to Verdi's revenge. MUCH more usefully Berrian befriended a lizardfolk (through a fist fight Berrian won after the lizardfolk fell flat on his face and knocked himself out) and negotiated safe passage for the party + a change in the planned road pathing to avoid the lizardfolk’s territory.

to be continued...
