MORO is a recurring character in the Guilty Gear series. He is a member of the Night Commission and an amnesiac Half-Gear with unclear origins.

Moro is an intense, energetic, and lighthearted person, passionate about making friends wherever he can. He tends to strike up conversations with anyone he finds interesting, and places importance on having fun. He is also very caring, always trying to see the best in people and help them when needed. Despite his efforts, he is often considered off-putting or scary by others, though he doesn't seem to take offense to it. This is influenced by his demon-like appearance, mannerisms, and tendency to act a bit unhinged.

He is an eager fighter who loves to spar, and finds joy in finding people who can keep up with his attacks. He also considers himself a jokester, loving to play pranks on those around him. While he ultimately retains most of his original identity, his more outgoing traits presented themselves after his amnesia.

Sometime prior to the events of Guilty Gear XX, the individual that would later become Moro was born. In his original state, he lived with no aspirations, isolating himself to avoid being hunted due to his status as a half-Gear. Most of his time was spent taking care of birds, as he felt the most comfortable around them.

Disconnected from the major events happening at the time, Moro continued to live in solitude until the area he took shelter in was destroyed. As a result, he took up several odd jobs while concealing his Gear nature, often working in homes or bounty hunting. This led to a brief conflict with Bridget, as the two were both after the same W$ 500,000 bounty placed on Dizzy. The altercation ended amicably, with Moro opting to discontinue his search, and the two went their separate ways. He continued to look for other means to support himself, ultimately choosing to sail with a group of fishermen, before he was lost at sea in a freak accident.

After washing up on an unfamiliar island, he came across a figure with similar injuries. He was informed that both of them were fated to die, and that the man had one final mission. He asked Moro to take in his incomplete soul so he could fulfill it, and that was their only hope of survival.

As a vessel, most of the memories of his previous identities were lost. When he emerged, he could only recall that single objective: to deliver a message to an old friend. However, he had no means of finding them, as he had forgotten their name. In an attempt to find them, he continued traveling, and eventually resumed bounty hunting.

After the Universal Will was defeated and That Man surrendered himself to the US government, Moro sensed that his mission was finally going to reach its conclusion. He traveled once more to Illyria to find the answer to his past and the key to his future. In a twist of fate, he soon found himself in yet another accident. He was heavily injured, and rescued by a mysterious cloaked figure, who healed his wounds. The faint memory of this ability struck him suddenly, and he realized this was the man he'd been looking for all along: Raven.

After resolving his mission, he continued his work while keeping in close contact with Raven. In the process, he became aware of an organization with a high bounty on its leader, and sought to turn them in. Along the way, he became familiar with O- and Rogue. After a long period of distrust amongst them, the three went on to form the Night Commission, after realizing they were hunting for the same individual. This led to another encounter with Bridget, and the two became friends.

As of the end of -Strive-, he is currently residing with Raven.

  • His themes diverge from Guilty Gear's traditional metal style due to his association with electricity and electronic music.
  • The text on the back of his jacket reads "-nothing is but what is not-".
  • He believes strongly in luck, and in turn his own unluckiness.
    • This seems to have a self-fulfilling effect, evident by the numerous tragedies across his life.
