AWWWWNJCSJN mother characters are so <333333 to me tbh...I love how protective she is as well! and her color palette really lends her to be soft and sweet (not to humans), so I bet its unexpected and rare when she truly gets aggravated for her children!! I wonder is she's kind of a story teller, since you mention how she's seen so much, and esp how shes seen the environment change because of humans.
!!!! Yes! I know there's lots of characters with un-named parents or dead ones, but I really liked the idea of the integrated into society Catshark finally meeting his mum(who is more 'wild' in nature and with different experiences with humans from Catshark) again as an adult. Honestly you're onto it, she's the unofficial official mom:tm: of the catshark gang when she gets to meet them all. HOnestly her story is important to my fictional world in showing the tense relations between animals gaining sentience and people and I hope to one day have her tale as a prequel story
