Venus originates from Splatsville, separated from her family for no particular reason outside of personality differences. While she tended to be more serious and withdrawn, her siblings and parents were outgoing, persistently making her aware of how much they wished she wasn't so closed off from them. It only got worse in her teenage years as she used her newfound freedom to spend more time away from home adventuring. After being recruited by the Squidbeak Splatoon, she went on to hide as much as she could from her family before finally deciding to split off from them once and for all. She left without saying a proper goodbye, only giving them a note to explain her sudden disappearance. Guilt still bothers her from how she chose to leave, knowing deep down they were ultimately well meaning, but she can't find the confidence to return to them.
After the events of the Splatoon games, Venus found herself deeply changed. On one hand she was genuinely more sociable and at ease with the prospect of her future, on the other, lingering effects from her sanitization still left her reeling with chronic sickness and anxiety. Not wanting to take a long time recovering, it wasn't long until she was back on the job with the Squidbeak Splatoon, returning to her duties as an Agent.
Currently, she is still on active duty as an Agent and is studying the Octarian forces from a distance as a spy. She frequently makes reconnaissance missions to Octarian territory in order to gather information on their weaponry and future plans.
