- Name: Oleander (Ollie) Age: 4 years old Backstory: Ollie grew up in a flourishing kingdom as the heir to the throne. Alongside all the complicated aspects of being king, he would also need to become a strong symbol for the kingdom and for its people, he’d need to find a worthy queen and produce heirs of his own. Oleander didn’t want this and pleaded with his parents to pass the burden onto his sister, but the parents didn’t budge one bit. So Oleander ran away, he ran further than he ever dreamed he could, to the point of entering the territory of another kingdom, much like his own, only weaker and falling apart. He stayed there for moons until he came across another prince enacting the same plan as him, this prince was of the failing kingdom. Something felt off about it to Ollie though, it left a sour taste in his mouth. Abandoning your kingdom in such a dire state felt.. Wrong to him. Yet he continued to meet with the prince, they’d tell tales to each other of glory and of failure, of great laughs and of sorrow. Ollie learned the prince's name, though he suspected it to be fake. He called himself Calla. Ollie learned how and why he left his kingdom, and he shared his reasons too. Calla was gay in a country that executed queer people over simply existing, he wasn’t being selfish, he was simply trying to exist. Oleander on the other hand admitted his own reasons for not wanting the crown. 1/?
He was scared, scared of what it could mean for him, and how it would change his dynamic with his family and with his people, he was scared that he might not live up to the expectations of everyone and he was scared that he would make decisions that could lead to thousands of unnecessary deaths There were other elements too, Oleander didn’t want his own children or a mate, and he didn’t want to pretend he wanted it either. All Oleander wanted was to be with his family and just breath. The two eventually decided to go on the run together, to travel between different countries and to see the world and its people. So that's what they did. Now far far away from their own countries they travel the world and learn about other lands' cultures and their way of life. Personality: Oleander is a quieter soft-spoken cat, rarely raising his voice above a whisper. He loves the simple parts of life, cooking a nice breakfast, getting into a good novel, and Finding that perfect flower in a field of beauty. Oleander is easy to get to talking and wears his heart on his sleeve, making it very difficult for him to be a criminal prince on the run. It's easy to make him laugh and he loves to talk to people and understand them. Oleander is a man who loves too easily and can connect to those who will betray him. Despite the betrayal, he will remain one of the most loyal friends you’ve got and will always help you in need, even if that means endangering himself. Oleander fears commitment, he’s afraid of responsibility and what that means. Being good friends is one thing, but leading a country, being a mate and a father? What does that all mean? He is a very good baker, but a horrible chef. His pastries are to die for, but his meatloaf could kill you. What would you use them for?: This whole story and world! He and Calla wouldn’t be main characters but rather recurring side characters. MC is still in the making!
