MATCHA

Matcha is an interesting character; while she's incredibly naive and kind, she is also very impatient, stubborn, and likes to do things in her own way rather than listening to an authority figure. As a robot who's AI evolves with time, spending time with her creator, Artemis, ( ''father'' according to Matcha ) has influenced most of her personality, as he too can be stubborn and prefers to do things with his methods and routines. She prefers to talk and socialize rather than be cooped up in the labratory, but unfortunately that can only satisfy her need for company for so long until everyone around her is busy.

She can feel genuine emotions like sadness, happiness, and anger, however they are not on the same physical level like humans, but rather a feeling that is temporary and easy to fix and seems to only affect her mentally for a short amount of time. It's much easier for her to feel an emotion if she witnesses a human going through that specific emotion, therefore it's easier for her to mimic and understand the emotion more in depth. Unlike Dex's creations, her vast understanding of emotions is an added feature Artemis implemented to help her feel more human rather than appear as such, trading her more humanly appearance and instead focusing on more humanly AI.

Matcha was created on May 10th, 2020 by a man who’s name was never revealed to Matcha herself. He was a well-known Scientist who previously ran the coffee shop before Matcha did, and built a decent reputation for not only the cafe but for himself. Unfortunately, that changed. A few weeks before Matcha was created, he knew his time was running out and needed to find a replacement that best suited the cafe and was fit for the job. Nobody he interviewed caught his eye and he felt himself growing weaker. Once he realized the capabilities of a robot employee, he immediately went to work. This led to Matcha’s creation, which admittedly wasn’t his best work due to his physical health. She was underdeveloped and didn’t have as much knowledge on humans as a modern-day robot, but she was great at her job and that’s all he wanted.

Matcha and her creator were incredibly close and developed a sort of father-daughter relationship that kept him going for longer than he thought he would, but as time went by, he couldn’t run from it any longer. As his final wish, he told Matcha to find the Executives and show off his work to them so they could perhaps catch interest in his work and hire him into the field to pay him enough to afford medical treatment, but unfortunately he went missing before she had the chance.

She didn’t understand much of what he wanted from the Executives, as she was mainly coded to run a coffee shop, but as time went on she realized she started feeling different without his presence. She felt… empty. She still looks for him when people walk in the door, and she hopes someday it’s him.
