• born in the Ruby Sea (Mother passes away during child birth)
• Grows up with brother and father
• Father is a tradesman/fisher/hunter: travels a lot to provide for their community; brother Emil is very protective of Emi, Emi wants to explore and leave ruby sea
• emi runs away at age of 18; wants to go explore the shore. Slavers pick her up and sell her to an Ishgardian magistrate who used Au Ra as slaves
• Emi is held in captivity as an entertainment for the magistrate due to her good looks. The man believes that Au Ra are devil dragon spawn, but still sees Au Ra women as a sexual sin and therefore has them trained to entertain for a sick group of religious extremists
• Emi’s mentor in dance, Minnone Etionelle, was working with a group of Ishgardian rebels (the brume) to help free the girls. Emi was held in captivity until the age of 22 when the plan came to fruition and the magistrate was assassinated by resident mercenary Dalson Dalco
• Dalson stayed to help rehabilitate some of the Au Ra; Emi specifically decided to join him on his adventures and the two quickly fell in love and found solace in each other over their shared trauma of past captivity
• Emi trained in the art of battle dance to overcome her past prison and use her years of training in captivity to help others in the future. The two spent a few short years together in bliss as a mercenary couple with their adopted daughter Nicia, before the VIIth legion of the Imperial Empire began to stir.
• Emily and Dalson become soldiers in e Carteneau to help stop the sixth umbral  calamity. The two were separated at the battle with Emi being gravely injuried. She was brought to New Gridania to heal under the care of the Conjurer’s Guild, but has lost contact with her beloved Dalson.
• Emi, convinced that her Dalson was killed in the fight, stays with the Conjurers to study their craft so she could heal others in the future as she could not heal her Dalson on the battlefield. She poured herself into her work and became lost in her studies.
• Six years after their separation, Dalson ventured to New Gridania working with a new group of freedom fighters called the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. Hired out to help the investigation of the Ascian problem, Dalson and Emi are reunited and Emi vows to join the Scions to always be there as Dalsons healer. (Beginning of ARR)
• The two take their vows to be eternally bonded in the forests of New Gridania surrounded by their Scion companions and the fellow adventurers from the Weeze mercenary company who became fast allies and friends.
