She knew Nebula before Nebula got corrupted by space magic. Nebula who is... too old to be 17.
They were not teammates, just friendly. Not so friendly anymore.
Azura, like nebula, is kept youthful through magic, though she is not corrupted. Rather her life extending magic is granted from an earthly source

After years (so many years) of magical crime fighting, Azura is able to keep her calm and actively strategize in combat and otherwise stressful situations like stopping magic crystals that are rapidly growing from destroying the city. That has happened TWICE. Not fun. She and her team failed the first time around because no one knew what it was until after it had ended. The second time only half a city was destroyed! The other half is just fine! mostly.

Her magic is water based, the darkness of the blue indicates the power level. Lighter is weaker, darker is stronger.
