Violet

Violet, as a young girl was the daughter of a very lovely flower shop owner for a mother and a banker for her father. Her house was just upstairs to the flower shop, so she was always around flowers and her mother always asked for her to help when she had some free time. So, the girl got to learn a lot about flowers, plants, how to take care of them, which ones were toxic to the touch, and the different diseases they can get.

African violets are her favorite flowers because she loves the color violet, white came really close though, and the smell that violets give off was always pleasant to her. So, on her birthday, her Violet’s mother always made sure to get her some, even though they were a little expensive to get. The young girl did some research and found out how expensive they are, so her dream is to one day set up a large african violet that everyone can enjoy and make it affordable to get some.

Her father usually would only come home after long hours after work. By then the poor creature was exhausted. But he always had one free day on the weekend, which he made sure to spend as much time as he could with his family. Going to fancy restaurants, shopping sprees when there was extra money, or any festivals in the local area.

Violet loved her parents a lot. They were so sweet, kind, and there for her. But then around the age of 11, as she and her father were out a park, just enjoying their day. She was looking at the wild flowers when a stranger came up to her. He had a large dark coat and a hat that covered his face. “Hey kid, I see you like flowers. ~”

“Yes, I do mister! I love all sorts of flowers!”

“Well I got a very special flower for you then,” he said before he looked through his pockets. He pulled out a red flower with black spots towards the center, the center was encircled by white and in the middle was yellow. “This is a special flower I would like you to have.”

The girl was excited, she never seen such an interesting flower and was so willing to take it home. However, her father knew better. That was a Papaver Somniferum, a species of poppy flowers. One that can be used to make opium from their seeds. Also, a marker for the drug gangs to target their next victims. Oh, papa was not going let any of that happen to his little girl! He got up from his bench and walked over to the male. “Don’t you dare you crook!”

The male turned around, surprised that someone was there and saw his attempt. But before he could respond with anything, the father punched him. Violet was very shocked and had gotten a bit scared not knowing what to do. The man got up. “You’ll pay for that!” He pulled out a knife and stabbed her father.

“DADDY!!!” She ran to her dad as he fell to his knees. The dangerous stranger ran off while he left the man bleeding. Violet had tears in her eyes. “Please don’t die daddy!” She looked around. “Please help! Someone help my daddy please!”

Some people heard and called for an ambulance. But he never made it to the hospital. The knife that stabbed him was coated in poison. And the killer is still out there somewhere as nobody could find him. The police don’t even know what he is!

Now, Violet is more of an introvert. She doesn’t trust strangers with their faces hidden along with most of their body. She also rather plays safer than sorry. But those she does trust and know well, she loves them with all her heart. But her being so oblivious does get her into trouble from time to time.

Like sometimes she’ll be talking with some friends of hers from school as they walk down the street. A bike could be coming right at them, she wouldn’t notice till either it was too late, or a friend of hers manages to get her out of the way. Good thing she has such a likable personality that makes making friends so much easier for this poor girl.
