Buck

Buck is a charming yet odd guy who lives out of his car and crappy motels, his goal being to visit and learn the lore of forgotten towns like the one he was raised in. He has no set or stable job and is okay with it as long as he has what he needs. He’s fascinated with the past and is quite intellectual beneath the cocky, simple-minded exterior he displays. Self-sufficient and independent, values humor and the little things in life and doesn’t care about being traditionally ‘successful.’ Likes guns, sexy vintage cars, and not calling anyone for months at a time.

He has a journal compiling his findings in the towns he visits, which include makeshift ‘interview’ transcripts, polaroid photos, written entries about his stays, and sometimes the signatures and phone numbers of any friends he’s met along the way. Eventually he plans to turn it into a published book documenting the history of these forgotten places.

He has always had a morbid curiosity about the family his mother and father left behind and regretted to speak of to him. He frequently spends his time digging through records and websites to try to find more information, and he’s the only one of his siblings who knows where he may be able to find some of them. He reads the poetry books published by his grandfather and uncle, and knows a bit more about his father’s disappearance than ever expected.
