KOVINSKI
the ambassador of ghoulsKovinski, also known as The Ambassador, is a ghoul who first speaks to the player in zone two. Though they appear several times in zone one as a bit of a rare encounter, turning to the Batter and disappearing with several appropriately leveled ghouls filling in their place. They seem to be curious of the Batter's nature despite everything; tilting their head, prodding, and ultimately annoying the man.
Throughout zone two their presence is more known. They enjoy playing 'harmless pranks' on the Batter, stealing little items such as tickets or other small things he has. They refer to the player more than the Batter, and when they do speak to the Batter, they are both playful and arrogant.
Encounter
COMPETENCES
THIRD STRIKE you're out.
Using the Batter's Bat, they toss a metallic ball in the air and strike it at the Batter. Has a higher chance of crit damage. After using this ability they have a chance to dodge one of the Batter's attack. The entire time they are grinning wildly. They take some sort of pleasure beating the man with his own weapon.
TEMPTATION you should hate yourself.
Whispers surround the Batter and deal SMOKE damage. These whispers appear to come from everywhere and nowhere, and during them two more ghouls appear besides Kovinski. Afterwards, the Batter is deafened and cannot predict their attacks until his next turn. Their smile doesn't reach their eyes.
STICKY FINGERS did you need that?
When the Batter intends to use an item to heal, gain strength, or revive an ally; Kovinski can take the item from his hands and use it themself. This takes several seconds and can be interupted by another one of his party members, though the item is still lost. They look you up and down coldly.
IMPURE INTENT look in the mirror.
Their strongest move by far. They screen goes black and they attack the Batter from behind, automatically critting. They have no intentions of fighting this man fairly, and will do anything to get the upperhand. The Batter can prevent this by doing enough damage while they wind up this attack.
Drops
[ YOUR BAT ] - a simple metal bat belonging to the batter. now covered with doodles and stickers, as well as writing in black paint. most noticably there are numerous scratched out phrases over and over, repeated. the bat is now bent out of shape after the battle. it feels right in your hands, though you can sense the impurity throughout the weapon. it now does a random damage type after each attack ( smoke, metal, etc. ) until a new bat is bought or until zone 3 is purified.
