Personality

Mesarill is super social and polite to anyone he comes across. He seems to have trouble communicating with others in regards to small-talk but is incredibly honest and never lies (which often has gotten him into trouble in the past). Mesarill likes being helpful and offers advice wherever he can- being more philosophical and down to earth than most. He enjoys using silly metaphors and joking around but is really serious when the time calls.

Mesarill is a complete pacifist. They wish to do no harm in the world- even to that of creatures outside of hunting and living. He’s grateful for the job he has as it allows him to live this way, but he understands that no matter what…cats will fight and blood will be spilled as some cats just don't see life as important as he does.

Sometimes Mesarills deep thinking spirals him into an existential crisis or a hyper-awareness to the world around him and how negative it can be…which weighs heavy on him and makes him feel really down. Despite that he tries to pick himself up everyday thinking things will be okay in the end.

Backstory

Mesarill grew up in Summitclan, an awkward but friendly apprentice with his sister Tundrabristle. He tended to get along with his sister alot but the two were never entirely close. Mesa was bullied by some others who thought him to be odd, but he stuck by his best friend and childhood crush Cranepaw closely. He had hoped someday he could confess his crush to Cranepaw but it seemed that was not destined to happen.

As they became warriors, Cranestrikes and Mesarill were out hunting one night when a storm hit and left the two warriors taking cover in a small crack in the mountain. Unknownst to them, a bear had claimed this shelter as their own and attacked the two young cats. Mesarill in a moment of fear and coward-ness abandoned his best friend to the bear, running far away in hopes to get help. But as he ran...Cranestrikes screams of terror stopped and Mesarill realized his best friend was dead. Feeling deep shame and disgust with himself, Mesarill felt like he couldn't return to the Starlight Warriors let alone face Cranestrikes family or his own.

For a cat who held loyalty so high, Mesarill committed the most cowardly act in leaving the cat he loved the most to die. There would not have been anything he could’ve done to try save or help Cranestrike- especially not without dying himself…but the days following and walking around in circles with grief, Mesarill wished he had died with him.

Knowing his sister was going to have a family of her own and thinking he would not be missed, Mesarill exiled himself and wondered the lands a bit until running into Evergreenclan, deciding this was the fate he deserved and couldn't think of a better punishment than being surrounded by most cats who would hate his guts. Surprisingly, he found life easy there and took to helping others to try to fill the empty void in his heart, making many friends. He took up becoming their new healer after the previous one died and he felt like he truly belonged somewhere for once.
