The Background

Nefher is an old resident. They used to have a lot of feelings for their descendants, many of whom were dreamers. Nefhers mortal soul had some connection with egyptian rulers and held strong familiar feelings towards them. A few pharaohs who managed to become dreamers would ask their advice and they would be happy to help them. In fact for a short time anyone who was a dreamer could become something akin to a high priest or priestess getting invaluable information from Nefher who scribed down all information they got their hands on. This led to Nefher possessing a very detailed library of Egyptian history, politics, technologies and warfare all this was at full access to the priests and pharaohs of egypt.

However one day the priests and pharaohs stopped visiting the dreamworld, this left Nefer somewhat bewildered and sad. But Nefher converted their feelings into a knowledge obsession thinking that if one day someone from their lineage would return they would be able to provide everything they needed in information. It is unclear how Nefher locates and identifies those of the right lineage, no other known resident carries soul-feelings for anyone in the mortal world they did not personally meet, and even then locating them through a feeling is not possible, at least it should not be

The lineage

Nefhers feelings for their lineage had a sinister twist. They were always interested in the Yarn and its magic-like properties and along with their vague memories of their former life they managed to merge the 2 to create something. Everything made of Yarn can assimilate with it and cause natural fenomen, ranging from changing a limited area to a themed biome of themselves, to becoming a cold winter wind traveling through the dreamworld. Nefher found her first descendant by following the deja vu feeling. (the Yarn has a tendency to want people with soul feelings to meet and will nudge them towards each other, this is how Nefher found her grandson, who was a dreamer in the dreamworld).

The grandson Nether met was a grown man and not a child like how they remembered however the feeling was unmistakable, she knew him. In exchange for knowledge he promised her to assimilate with the Yarn becoming her protector when he was no longer fit to rule as a pharaoh. Once the time had come he merged with the dreamworld but also with Nefher making him a spiritual link directly connecting Nethers consciousness to the mess of wills and feelings that we call the consciousness of the dreamworld and the Yarn who it inhabits.

The Yarn links

This link was named Ra after the sun god of egypt. It would take the form of a snake like golden fire and sometimes even create a face in the fire. Nefher continued creating these strange beings of semi consciousness of their descendants. The link that Ra established makes them able to easily find them through the Yarn.

Currently Nefher has 4 beings under her control. Although a lot more would have been created had it not been for them dying before being able to perform their end of the deal. Nefher was kind in that way, waiting to their old years providing support in any way they could without guarantee of repayment.

The 3 other spirits are named after other gods, Sekhmet (the daughter of the man who became Ra), Anubis, and Horus. All spirits take the shape of a golden flame line like Ra
