Annavenn Vallayerikh (アナベン・ヴァラレイヤーク Annaven Varareiyāiku) is an original character (OC) and a major supporting antagonist of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the highest position, Special Rank Zero (特の零 Toku no Rei), as well as Kibutsuji's wife.
She is also a working physician of the Mount Andrei Hospital & Orphanage (the hospital is owned by Annavenn's older brother, Andrei), a medical facility under the government's protection for its sophisticated equipment where she disguises as a nice and caring doctor. This hospital also acts as a place to support the Blue Spider Lily research.

Annavenn is a young woman who has often been described as possessing "striking (some say inhuman), yet angelic beauty", with long silver-gold (platinum blonde) hair that has curled bangs hanging on either side. Her eyes appear to be made up of an array of rainbow pastel tones that fade into one another. In her half-demon form, her eyes are rainbow-colored with multiple black rings between them. And in her demon form, the kanji for "Special Rank" (專) and "Zero" (零) are etched across them.

On the surface, Annavenn is outwardly friendly, well-mannered, charismatic, and compassionate who possesses a myriad of favorable traits and can easily overwhelm individuals with her seemingly flawless nature, as described by Muzan Kibutsuji, who describes her as being not of this world. This meticulously crafted facade makes it easy for her to make new allies and manipulate them into doing various deeds for her through the influence of her supposed friendship and good will. With such skill in creating this sense of perfection and pureness, Annavenn hides her true motives with ease.
Within this contrived exterior, however, Annavenn callously delivers destruction and suffering to those who happen to fall prey to her schemes. She possesses an equal capacity for psychological torture and can persuade nearly anybody to kill either others or themselves; whenever possible. Even before she met Muzan Kibutsuji, Annavenn has already exhibited clear psychopathic tendencies.
For example, during their first encounter at a nearby tavern (in the Sengoku Period), Muzan Kibutsuji witnessed how Annavenn encouraged a newly-transformed demon who was unable to kill humans out of fear and morals to commit such atrocious crime. Annavenn enjoyed toying with this type of mindset by showing the demon "how it's done", she then poisoned a young man and then framed another. The entirety of the tavern started to quarrel among each other about who was the perpetrator of the young man's murder. Everything went into chaos and eventually, everyone in the tavern was frenzied and started killing each other. Later on, eighteen people died. At this time, Annavenn stood among the dead bodies without even flinching to the horror's view. It is then implied that this was not her first time committing such atrocities. Later on, Annavenn began corrupting the demon's mindset and talked them into committing murder upon two more civilians to make the number of casualties become twenty.
Despite Annavenn's inhumane demeanor, Annavenn cares deeply for Muzan and dislikes not being by his side for even a minute.
A millennium ago during the Heian Period, Annavenn was a Cherub (heavenly creature/angel) with 4 wings, guarding the Tree of Life. During one of her occasional visits to the human world, she serendipitously discovered the mansion where Muzan Kibutsuji once resided, this event led to her meeting with Muzan who at the time had suffered from a terminal ilness. It was there that an extraordinary connection blossomed, and she fell in love with Muzan.

Annavenn then sought to cure by giving him a leaf from the Tree of Life (this was strictly forbidden, as angels could not alter a human’s lifespan). The leaf, believed to be a crucial ingredient in Muzan's medication, malfunctioned due to divine intervention, rendering it ineffective causing Muzan's incapability to endure sunlight, transforming him into a demon, a bloodthirsty creature responsible for the merciless killing of hundreds of humans.
As a result of the catastrophic events that unfolded, Annavenn found herself cursed by God, and her fate sealed with the gravest punishment — execution. The divine decree manifested in the form of a Seraph's spear, piercing through her celestial form. With the pronouncement of this celestial sentence, Annavenn descended from the heavens, falling to the human world. In a poignant twist of destiny, her celestial essence extinguished as she breathed her last in Muzan's arms (now transformed into a demon progenitor). The celestial being's sacrifice and tragic demise marked the intersection of heavenly and mortal destinies.
