Velvie is a stuffed animal familiar who was granted life by the power of love and belief. He's the first familiar The Lady of the Fog ever contracted, the first taste of her great and terrifying magical ability at a young age. It also explains the unoriginal name. Having such a soft form has it's issues... Velvie has trouble standing upright on his own, making walking a series of falls and flops to the ground. But he doesn't mind! He's a boy that doesn't mind stopping to smell the roses (or faceplanting on the floor...) Velvie is adventerous and excitable, but well mannered; and always gives everything 110% of his time, energy, and cotton stuffing. This leads to Mercutio pushing all the butler work unto him, which Velvie happily accepts. What a honor to be trusted with so much responsibility...! But there is only so much he can do. No one has the heart to tell him that he is why the mansion is in a state of disrepair...

Velvie is, obviously, the least dangerous being in the mansion. He doesn't have a bad bone in his cotton-and-thread body. But he fills Erica with an unsettling familiarity. Her first instinct was to kick him across the room.
