Zuko
About
Personality
Abandoned tied to a tree by his previous owners, Zuko was left fending for himself without food and water for nearly a week. A passer-by finally noticed him and informed a local dog shelter. Volunteers rushed to rescue him, and, despite being weakened because of hunger, thirst and exhaustion, he welcomed them warmly.
Diagnosed with canine leishmaniasis, a lifelong illness, Zuko was thankfully treated soon enough to recover. Zuko spent 9 months in the shelter before being adopted in France. Living inside a home was completely new for him; walking on a leash, the terrifying vacuum, the sound of a fan... but also healthy meals, endless toys and daily loving hugs.
Though he still has to work a lot on his reactivity towards unknown dogs, leading him to be agressive to his peers without any logical reason, Zuko is now the happiest dog in the world, constantly wearing a big, goofy smile on his face. Even after being let down by humans, he still offers them unconditional love and comfort. Very affectionate, playful and quite tender, Zuko will without a doubt smother you with big slobbery kisses if you ever cross his path!
