Athena is kind of a traveler of sorts, travelling from planet to planet to kind a suitable home that would be able to sustain both them and their twin sibling, Apollo after their home planet was evacuated due to a pandemic that has similar effects to the Cordyceps fungus. This, supposedly unbeknownst to Athena, was actually the result of a bioweapon from an enemy nation that got too out of hand.
The two were separated after crossing an asteroid belt, sending Athena crash-landing into (wherever we are). Their main priority is finding any clues as to where Apollo may be, though with little luck.
Both Athena and Apollo's bodies are accustomed to the atmosphere of their home planet, and because of that, their bodies cannot sustain the air in other planets. Their helmets/masks have an air filter that can remove what's toxic to them and leave them with fresh air. Because of this, Athena cannot remove their mask. This makes it difficult for them to properly convey their emotions, as most of their facial features are completely obscured, as is whatever species Athena is. When asked, however, Athena's answer is always very vague, as if they're trying to stay as anonymous as possible. There's a chance that Athena isn't even their actual name, but they don't have any comments on that.
