"I gotcha this charm! It'll help ya remember we're friends, or whatever! Like you NEED a reminder... this tradition's kinda silly, huh?"

— Amani to Rogar Furner

Amani Leadfoot is a female Ksh'ar and best friend of Rogar Furner. She is an orphan jointly raised by nearly every person in her village, the mining and smithing town of Golrok. At the age of 14, she became a miner, her profession to the present day. Despite some of the hardships in her life,  she has remained a happy and energetic girl.

During the Age of Calm, She lives alone in a small house near Rogar's cliffside.

At the end of the Age of Calm, Amani suddenly disappears along with the rest of her village.

Appearance

Amani's Beach Outfit.

Amani is a slightly shorter than average Ksh'ar. She is dark skinned and has silver hair, both typical of her species. Her hair stands up on the right side of her head, with 3 distinct spikes. She has large bug wings, which allow her to glide if she wishes.

Her eyes are green, with a yellow schlera. A single fang sticks out from her lower left jaw.

She has a smaller chest, with wider hips and thicker legs.

Her typical outfit consists of a red scarf, a dark-sand colored tanktop, goggles she uses in the mines, poofy brown shorts, red-trimmed knee-socks, brown gloves over fishnet gloves, and brown boots. She usually forgoes the brown gloves though.

Her undergarments include a bluish-green chest wrap and red panties.

When working in the mines, she wears the goggles to protect her eyes from rock dust, and wraps the scarf around her mouth and nose as not to breathe in any dust.

On hot days she normally wears a light-sand-colored chest wrap, light-brown short shorts, a light blue thong, and a teal colored kerchief around her neck. If she's not going into the water, she also wears brown shoes and light blue mini-crew cut socks.

On cold days she normally wears thigh-high red socks and a brown fur-lined jacket with her typical outfit.

At home, if she's alone, she'll usually laze around in just a tanktop and underwear.

Personality

"Aye, ye hanging out with her again? She's kinda like... everyone's sistah, huh? Even I remember when she was even tinier, and shyer, haha!"

— Xolva Furner on Amani

Amani is a positive, happy, and sweet girl. She is also a hard worker, going to the mines almost every day to gather ore for her village's needs. She cares very deeply about the people she loves, and hates seeing anyone suffer. She tries her best to help the people closest to her with their problems, even if she has to drop something she's doing to do so.

She can also be pretty silly at times, especially with her best friend Rogar. She is known to tease him a lot, and even pull small pranks on him once in a while.

Amani loves to learn about others, and observe things she herself can't do. As an example, it is common for her to watch Rogar as he smiths weapons and tools for the village.

She is a lot stronger than she looks! Working and swinging a pickaxe for as long as she has has given her pretty strong arms. As such, she'll punch your shoulder playfully, but it'll sting for a while.

She loves music a lot, and actually sings in the privacy of her home. She gets embarrassed easily if she's caught doing this. However, her voice isn't too bad, she just thinks it is.

Amani loves to cook when she can! She usually makes Donrin (Ksh'ar leaf dumpling) out of fish she catches from her village's river. Her and Rogar eat them while in the mines, and she always loves the compliments!

Despite her good traits, she's not perfect. Amani is a bit too open with others. She sometimes doesn't know when to stop talking, due to always being so trusting with others. Another thing is that she can be very stubborn. Once she sets her mind to do something, not much will stop her. This usually ends in her getting caught up in a bit more than she can handle.

Biography

Early Life

Amani was born in Golrok Village, Garron near the end of the Age of Calm, the only child of Melda Leadfoot and the late Icro Leadfoot. At the age of 2, Melda left her along with the village in self exile, leaving her village the task of raising her.

As a child, Amani was curious, explorative, and a bit shy around others. Although she was always watched and cared for during the day, at night she was left alone in her home, without anyone to accompany her while she slept. This gave her a fear of darkness as a child, as well as a fear of seperation from others.

She became friends with Rogar at the age of 4, when he helped cheer her up after she found out about her parent's fates. Rogar would sneak out and sleep in her house with her, until she got to an age where she no longer felt frightened of the dark. Rogar would try his best to accompany her during the day as she played and explored.

At age 10, Amani moved out of her family home and into a newly build home just for her, close to Rogar's cliffside. She requested it be made compact and tall. Her village had built it for her.

She quite enjoys the hammock filled with pillows and blankets.

Amani showed proficiency at mining from a young age, and at 14 became experienced enough to join her village's mining guild, where she found a job working for Rogar's father Xolva, providing him with ores as well as becoming a mining mentor to Rogar. At 16 she decided to help with teaching young Ksh'ar children how to mine and find ore.

End of Age of Calm

At age 18, Amani is tasked with helping Rogar explore a new mine behind his house. Excitedly, she sees the opportunity to mention them possibly doing the Ksh'ar Friendship Ritual, now that they're adults. He obliges, and before they go off to the mines, they both eat the bud of the Whisperwind plant, making them both extremely chatty and truthful. Amani and Rogar reveal many things to each other, including their greatest fears, secrets, and true thoughts on one another. Their bond is greatly strengthened as a result of this, and happy the ritual didn't end in their bond being broken instead, Amani gives Rogar a friendship pendant, shaped like one half of the very flower they consumed.

Both invigorated, they easily cooperate to go deep into the dungeon and collect a lot of ores. Amani herself basically carries the whole operation proudly. Satisfied, Amani leaves with the rocks in tow, leaving Rogar to find an exit path he can take instead of the quick exit she has with her ability to glide.

Amani disappears shortly afterward, along with her entire village once Rogar eventually comes back, Though there might be an explanation...
