“Grim are the circumstances and dire the need.”

  • Alchemy Hobbyist: Beyond his scientific pursuits, Simon dabbles in alchemy.
  • Temporal Anomaly: Due to his connection with the infernal realms, time seems peculiar around Simon. Clocks often tick irregularly in his presence, and there are whispers among those who know him that he might be ageless, trapped in a timeless existence.
  • One of the only demons who can travel to the surface world whenever he pleases. He has a disquise for that. Although, it's always on a time limit that prevents him from staying.
  • Familiar Companion: A spectral raven named Azazel often accompanies Simon. This ethereal bird, an emissary from the underworld, serves as both a confidant and a guide in his occult endeavors.

Design Notes

  • One eye appears black. This would normally have rotted if he was completely dead, but the eye turned black instead due to his demonic ability.
  • Continues to wear 1800s clothing, mostly suits.
  • Very sharp teeth and a goofy smile. His characteristics would be described as "almost human" due to him slowly switching to a demon from the enviroment.
  • Short brown hair with a curl in the front.

Background

Simon was always a curious scientist, looking for methods to cure rare diseases and save the enviroment. He was very indulged in his studies.

Although, due to his studies he began to lose focus on the people around him. This included his daughter and his wife. His wife he could have cared less about, but his daughter meant the world to him. She became terribly ill and he wanted to be able to save her.

He tried and failed and tried again, but was beginning to lose hope on a cure. At a last desperation he went to the church, praying and hoping for an answer. A woman found him and gave him a book, claiming that it would cure all of the illness glooming over their lives.

The book was filled with rituals and what appeared as nonsense, yet he tried it. He summoned the devil. He begged that he give him a cure for his daughter's sickness. The demon king said that if Simon gave him his soul and was his servant until the end of time, he would.

Simon agreed to this. Satan took him into Hell, curing his daughter as he did. The part that Simon didn't know though, was that Satan removed Simon from his daughter's memory.

Now he serves as Satan's right hand man, scientist, and historian. He loves his job even if it took him a century and a half to get used to. He misses his family, especially his sweet Eliza.
