Haishe (or shey) is based on the Chinese dragon Haishe which literally translates to "sea snake". They are genderfluid because dragons don't abide by human gender norms. There are a couple discrepancies in the character design because I use a more oversimplified version of my artstyle for the char sheet but feel free to use whichever one as your reference! Haishe is an older God. In their peak they were quite a powerful force as humans would pray and sacrifice to them in order to guarantee a safe journey across the ocean. In modern times Haishe is more of a minor god as technology has advanced to the point that many do not pray to them for safety. While they seem cold and rigid in old practices at first, upon getting to know them you'll find they are kind and exceedingly loyal! NOTE: The little dragon buddy is a familiar that Haishe is soul-bonded too. Technically Haishe can turn into a dragon but they've lost that ability hundreds of years ago. Also another thing, it says in my old ref that it isn't hair its flaps but i change my mind about that. You can draw it either way tho LMFAO
