Her tribe was captured and used for experimentations while she was young. The experiments were meant to create stronger humans by grafting them with animals. All of the adults died, their bodies unable to adapt, but some among the children were able to survive and were successful. Fenix was one of these children, grafted with a jackal-like creature found on her world.

Their captors used the children to do their dirty work, threatening harm to some of the children who survived the experiments, but were deemed as failures. Fenix works as an assassin.
