A feathered, sun-eating dragon deity that reflects the colors of the night sky.
It was said that when the world was young, there only existed day. The world flourished, life prolific in eternal sunshine. The god Karima felt that the people did not appreciate the day that prospered, Thus the god Karima rose and swallowed the sun, bringing forth night. The people felt fear and fire was born from their rage. From desperation they learned to forge weapons and struck down their god. But deity blood was not meant to spill on holy soil. As the god's blood soaked the earth, it brought death. When the fires of their rage burned down, it gave way to despair. The people cried, and their tears created the sea.
It is said that the god Karima had a lover. A phoenix who rose from the ashes of humanity's hatred and laid waste upon their homes. It covers the sun every night to remind people the pain they have brought themselves.
"I fear for you, Karima. They were born out of love and yet have become so full of hate. Their teeth bared, ready to bite. Blood will be spilled, and it will not be theirs."
"I cannot learn to love them, Karima. I spent so many days loving you that I don't remember how to love anything else."
