"Emille"
There are beasts untamed
Who will eat the young
And you'll become the same
If you stay too long
Emille, a man with potent draconic heritage, embodies a complex personality shaped by his diverse traits. Curiosity fuels his insatiable desire for knowledge, driving him to explore uncharted territories of magic and the world. Despite being naturally grouchy, he displays a fierce loyalty to those who have earned his trust and affection. At times, exudes an assured confidence, stemming from his mastery of lightning and ice magic. Persistent by nature, he pursues challenges with unwavering determination, honing his skills to perfection. However, his sensual inclinations occasionally lead him astray, drawn to indulgent experiences that satisfy his hedonistic desires.
His wayward spirit resists conforming to societal norms, often wandering off the beaten path to discover unconventional truths. While Emille is approachable, he occasionally exhibits avoidant tendencies, seeking solace in isolation where he can focus on studying and refining his craft. Often times, he displays an explosive temper at being slighted or wronged (or worse, his companions falling into trouble) and flies into violent rages. Due to this, he often self isolates. He finds solace and stimulation in the world of literature, often engrossed in books that delve into arcane knowledge and history. Emille's inquisitive nature is never satiated when it comes to the arcane. He dedicates hours to exploring and dissecting magical phenomena, deciphering ancient tomes, and experimenting with spells. Chapter II ~ In The Sky
Emille, born as Raju Keeravani, emerged into the world amidst the grandeur of a royal household deep within Kara-Tur. Yet, his destiny took a curious turn as he was raised not by conventional guardians but by a majestic dragon named Malati. From his earliest days, Emille exhibited a remarkable affinity for magic, a gift inherited from his unique lineage intertwining with draconic blood.
Growing up alongside his three younger brothers, Emille's childhood was a blend of royal upbringing and the mystical teachings imparted by Malati. The dragon instilled in him not only the secrets of ancient magic but also imparted wisdom about the balance of power and responsibility.
As Emille matured into adulthood, his thirst for knowledge and understanding of his draconic heritage intensified. He yearned to explore the depths of his magical potential and sought to uncover the secrets hidden within his bloodline. With a heart filled with curiosity and ambition, he embarked on a journey into the wider world, leaving behind the comforts of his royal upbringing.
Venturing into distant lands, Emille delved into arcane studies, seeking mentors and texts that could illuminate the mysteries of his lineage. Along his journey, he encountered diverse cultures, magical practices, and encountered both allies and adversaries. Driven by his desire to unlock the full extent of his powers, Emille engaged in daring magical experiments and delved into forbidden knowledge. He walked a fine line between light and darkness, ever mindful of the teachings instilled by Malati and the responsibilities that came with his abilities.
Through trials and tribulations, Emille honed his skills and unearthed ancient secrets, pushing the boundaries of magic itself. His journey was not merely one of self-discovery but also a quest to harness his draconic essence for the betterment of the world - at any cost.
Design Notes
- Is afflicted with generalized vitiligo, causing pigmentless patches on his skin, his left eye, and some of his hair. Due to this, he keeps as much of his skin covered as possible.
- He also remains indoors as much as possible due to his vitiligo.
- His hair length and facial hair varies, but he prefers to keep a short beard.
- His fingers have been broken multiple times and healed incorrectly due to violent spells distorting them in his youth, and he wears claw-like bracers on his fingers as well as gloves to make them less noticeable.Â
- In tabletop terms, his gloves are his arcane focus, so he cannot cast without them.
- Uses magic to maintain his masculine characteristics as he was assigned female at birth.
- Is unusually tall, well over seven feet - often hunches to fit in with crowds.
- His favorite spells are ones to do with ice, which has has a natural magical affinity for.
Trivia
- Is very very loosely based on another character of mine, Sterling Meriwether.
- He uses the name Emille when he tires of people mispronouncing his actual name, Raju Keeravani, claiming it "sounds sort of Elvish" even though it doesn't.
- Emille speaks with an American accent with his tones often sliding between male and female (this is a good example of how his voice switches mid-sentence, but his feminine tone sounds like an adult).
- His actual voice claim is Gianni Matragrano as Gabriel in Ultrakill.
- Never stays in a town or city for long, preferring to only remain in one location for a year or two to read and study as much as possible before moving on.
- Is much, much older than he looks.
The Starlit Atlas
[Radiant Dragon - Father]Â
Emille’s ancestor was a mighty wyrm who was only called Starlit Atlas, or simply Atlas for short. Atlas was a typical member of the radiant dragons; large, shining, and only concerned with wandering between the outer planes found outside of Faerûn like a living spelljammer, occasionally taking the form of an adventurer.
Malati
[Silver Dragon - Mother]Â
Malati, a silver dragon in human form, is the wise and benevolent Sultana of Gaap, a small, thriving kingdom. Known for her vast knowledge and justice, Malati has transformed Gaap into a center of learning and culture. She raised Emille and his three younger brothers as scholars, instilling values of scholarship, empathy, and leadership. Her wisdom and patience, drawn from her dragon heritage, guide her in mentoring them and governing her people. Malati's calm and composed demeanor conceals an inner strength and fierce protectiveness towards her kingdom and adopted kin.
Aarush Keeravani/Arcanius
[Human Bard - Younger Sibling]Â
Aarush, Emille's younger brother, is a renowned bard celebrated for his extraordinary beauty and musical talent. Dubbed the "ghost of a fading comet" for his habit of disappearing after performances, Aarush captivates audiences with his enchanting presence and unmatched artistry. His sassy and somewhat vain demeanor often adds a playful edge to his interactions, masking his sharp intelligence and deep passion for justice. Despite his flair for the dramatic and a penchant for the spotlight, Aarush is fiercely dedicated to noble causes, willing to fight for what he believes in. He shares a deep bond with his brother Raju, even when they are apart, though their prideful natures often clash. This dynamic only strengthens their relationship, adding complexity to Aarush’s character as both a beloved yet elusive figure in the realm of art and heroism.
Samak Saelee
[Human Druid - Younger Sibling]Â
Samak Saelee, Emille's younger half-sibling, is a druid who spends most of his life as a feral tiger in the jungles of Kara-Tur. Blind yet profoundly intuitive, Samak serves as a protector and guide around sacred sites. Their savage nature is tempered by an innate kindness and wisdom that Emille deeply admires. Despite his admiration, Emille struggles with seeing his own potential for savagery mirrored in Samak’s bestial form. Samak's blindness heightens his other senses, allowing him to navigate and defend the jungle with remarkable skill. Their dual nature as a fierce guardian and gentle soul creates a complex and inspiring figure, embodying the balance between wild instinct and compassionate guidance.
Asitha Saelee
[Human Cleric - Younger Sibling]Â
Asitha, Emille's younger half-brother, is a compassionate healer and wandering cleric, significantly younger than Emille. This age gap makes Emille particularly protective of him. Asitha travels the land, offering his healing skills to those in need for little or no reward, a selflessness that Emille deeply admires. Despite his youth, Asitha's gentle demeanor and unwavering dedication to aiding others earn him respect and gratitude wherever he goes. His presence brings comfort and hope, embodying the purest ideals of altruism and service.Â
Angelus
[Red Dragon - Adventuring Companion]Â
Angelus, Emille's traveling companion, played a crucial role in Emille's personal and magical development. Their relationship was intense and passionate, marked by complexity and unhealthy dynamics. Despite this, Emille attributes his greatest growth, especially in mastering destructive spells, to Angelus’s guidance. Angelus's teachings pushed Emille to new limits, unlocking powerful magical abilities within him. Their time together was charged with emotion and fiery encounters, making Angelus’s sudden disappearance all the more devastating. One day, without warning, Angelus vanished, leaving Emille alone to grapple with both the loss and the profound impact of their time together. Emille's memories of Angelus are a mix of admiration, longing, and unresolved tension, shaping much of who he is today.
Yesterday or Tomorrow
[Human - Son]Â
Inné, known as Yesterday or Tomorrow, is Emille's long-lost and unknown son, secretly borne by Angelus after their disappearance. Left as an infant in the fey realm, Inné grew up among the fey, adopting their magical abilities and peculiar quirks. His human heritage, combined with fey upbringing, makes him a unique and enchanting individual, displaying unpredictable behaviors and powerful, otherworldly magic. Unaware of his true lineage, Inné lives a life filled with whimsy and mystery, embodying the enchanting yet chaotic nature of the fey. If Emille knew of Yesterday or Tomorrow's existence, he would be furious, both at the secrecy and at the loss of time with his son. Inné represents a hidden chapter of Emille's life, marked by both magic and missed connections.
