Amber was once left with Slateheart under the impression he'd be babysitting her. Yet, her mother never turned back up to retrieve her and hence, Slateheart raised her as her own.
Despite her adoptive father being a kind and calm soul, Amber often has a bad mood and impulsive temperament, tending towards attacking first and asking questions later.
However, she's just extremely scared of being left behind again and is extremely protective of those few she holds dear, jumping to mistrusting others way easier than she should, barely giving others time to establish themselves.

Once on your side, Amber is fiercely loyal and even quite kind though.

She had a bit of an issue getting used to Slateheart having a wife, thinking of her as an intruder at first, ready to take away her father. Over time however, she realited that Rosebagel loved her as one of her own, all the same.
