Wormwood

AKA "Wormy", "Чернобыль/Chernobyl"

Pronouns: It/Its

No Gender

Young Adult (in star years at least)

Asexual

Wormwood is horribly nervous and has no idea how to communicate with anyone. It tries to look menacing to everyone who isn't a part of its species but it instead just makes it look ridiculous. It also happens to be a demigod.

Its species as a whole is called the "Solwyrm". Despite the 'wyrm', Solwyrms look much more like (and the word probably should be) worms. They are born inside stars, live as long as stars, and consume the gasses that stars consist of. Most of them wander space for their entire lives, but Wormy specifically was given the choice to become a god (with a hilarious amount of asterisks attached to 'god'). All Solwyrms are sentient and as intelligent as an adult human, although Wormy is much more 'human' personality-wise than every other Solwyrm due to it tending to stick to Earth. Along with sleeping, Wormy enjoys listening to big-beat music and watching video essays.

Most Solwyrms that stick close to Earth end up learning either English or Russian due to a series of multiple coincidences, but most often they learn both. Solwyrms that learn either or both languages give themselves a name in that language: English Solwyrm names tend to be two syllables and are often compound words (wormwood, buzzbox, burnout), while Russian Solwyrm names are usually only 3-4 syllables (Чернобыль/chernobyl, Жужжалка/zhuzhzhalka, Челя́бинск/chelyabinsk). The compound word does not always have to be one that already exists, and the two names may or may not be related to each other. Solwyrms don't just learn solely English or Russian, however: after learning both, some continue to learn other languages, but they usually stay within the Indo-European language family.
