• He is a distant descendant of ThunderClan's founder; Thunder
• Pinestar was born and raised in ThunderClan, even becoming the Clan leader, and eventually taking a ThunderClan queen for a mate and producing a litter of kits, however when two of their three kits died early, he began wondering if Clan life was really worth all it was cracked up to be.
• While on patrol near Twolegplace, he met a lost kittypet and was completely taken with her unusual appearance and helped her find her twolegs, but it wasn't enough.
• The ThunderClan leader began visiting the kittypet with more and more frequency and her twolegs often tried to bring him into their nest, but his responsibilities as leader kept him from ever going inside.
• Until he found out Crystal was carrying his kits and her twolegs were keeping her safe in her nest, he began to contemplate if kittypet life was really so bad and wanted to be with Crystal without sneaking around, eventually deciding he no longer wanted to be a warrior and forsaking his Clan loyalty to be with his new mate.
