Born on a planet far from the central hub of activity that is the universe near Earth, Antigone Song grew up in a low income household with her parents until she graduated high school, at which point she left home to live with her girlfriend, [[Angel]]. Effectively isolated, as her family disapproved of and distrusted Angel and refused to contribute to her college tuition until she returned, Tony worked two jobs and struggled with the pressures of paying rent in an increasingly abusive relationship. All of the money that didn't go to rent or food Tony poured into obtaining and then improving a tiny spaceship, using her skills as a mechanic. She sustained everything from burns to knife wounds, and the violence eventually escalated until Tony was hit in the face with a baseball bat and lost use of her left eye. Seeing this event as a breaking point, Tony quit her jobs and left in the night with nothing but her beloved spaceship and a duffel bag of clothes.
Tony more or less became a pirate. To these ends, she created two gauntlets that were capable of moving matter around her person, allowing her to essentially walk through walls. In this manner, Tony amassed a small fortune for herself, although she virtually only spent it on improvements for her ship, Evie. While the quality of her life improved, Tony kept herself at arm's reach from everyone, existing in self-imposed isolation lest someone hurt her again.
- Tony's left eye had to be surgically removed after her girlfriend gave her an extreme blowout orbital floor fracture and bits of bone damaged her ocular nerve and eyeball. It was cheaper just to remove it entirely.
- She chooses to wear an ocular prosthesis. It is not the same color as her right eye, which is a very dark brown. Her left eye is blue, and she made it herself.
- Tony previously needed glasses/contacts. Now she only does in one eye.
- Tony is a bassist. She doesn't have a band, though.
- Tony's ship Evie is her best friend.

Tony spent years of her life devoted to her girlfriend, Angel, and over the course of those years Angel did not return a fraction of that devotion. Tony will forever be haunted by Angel's shadow.

In certain verses, Tony met searching for a cybernetics technician to review and install a prosthetic eye for her; a technician who ended up being Osie. Osie is the polar opposite of Tony's ex; silly, honest to a fault, and deeply kind.

Tony and Dalek get on fairly well, for two people only tangentially in the same line of work. They are both insanely, pathetically lonely and trodden upon.
