Ducc Ducc
Intro
Please Note: Ducc Ducc is part of my Noxeos universe. More information on that universe please see it’s page! Only as it may help with names of places ect.
Ducc Ducc is a half goblin half tiefling little ball of energy that has found herself living with a Amethyst Dragonborn Crystalmancer, Dr. Orichalco Gann, or as she called him Dr.Gann (dragon).
She was raised by her mother and clan in the forest of goblins, learning to swim, scavenge, hunt and craft. Her father would come by to teach her to read and write and tell her stories of his adventures. Once growing older Ducc Ducc decided she wanted to travel the world and see what all was out there and with her parents blessing was let to go out to the world. She didn’t have an idea of currency or how differently advanced the rest of the world was and had to learn about stealing the hard way. (its not her fault shinies are shines and food is tasty)
After many close encounters, trafficking escapes and other scares she found a smaller village with a beautiful lake. She lingered around for a while, getting her food goblin fishing in the lake. It was then she noticed a cave under the water. She entered, managed to get past all of the traps she didn’t notice existed until she found a room filled with gems, treasure and many other shinies. She didnt get to munch much before a very angry dragonborn had burst in and grabbed her by the horn, and thats how she met Ori.
Normally he would kill trespassers on sight but noticed her tail and horns and decided to keep her around. It started off as a selfish thing, keeping her about for her value but over time they genuinely bonded and are almost inseparable now. He made her an enchanted collar to try and combat her favourite snack being his gemstones in his stash. Now they work together to sell potions and trinkets in town. She is very good at getting in to things and sniffing out ingredients he needs with her forest knowledge.
Design
Notes
- Ducc Ducc has a tattoo on the back of her neck of a magpie feather from her days in the magpie clan. She also has a womb tattoo Ori gave her and a jester spade tattoo on her thigh she got from her travels
- Ducc Ducc cannot take off her collar. It is enchanted and will always be on unless it’s a backstory drawing or from before she met Ori
- Her horns and tail are made of purple turquoise (turquoise as in the gemstone) and it fades in to her skin where it meets. Her body is mostly copper instead of iron and scratches to her horns and tail or cuts that bleed will oxidize over time.
- Her eyes are spirals of orange and yellow, they let her see in the dark and glow slightly in the dark. It is a genetic mutation, neither parents have this.
- Ducc Ducc’s hair is Orange naturally but she uses old clan recipies to dye it purple. The streak at the front is always there but sometimes she will dye her side/framing hair strands with coon tail stipes.
Personality ______________ Powers
Checkers is bubbly and happy go lucky to the point it can get annoying to people that aren’t in the mood. She just wants people around her to be happy which can lead to jokes and pranks happing at inappropriate times. Though growing up in the equivalent of Noxeos’ medieval times she is catching on to new technology ok. She likes solving problems but with the chaotic nature of her species she can sometimes make things worse; or make new problems with her solutions. She is good at sensing sadness, anger and happiness but is extremely oblivious to flirtation and sarcasm. A lot of the time you have to be very blunt with her. She shows her emotions though her hat, if she is sad it will droop ect. She can be heard before she is seen by the bells on her hat and shoes. Checkers has a moral compass but little foresight for her impulsive actions.
Checkers may not be the most powerful trickster spirit but she knows the basics of being able to transform into her trickster animal, being very charismatic and able to tell a person’s species and weaknesses (to a good level of success.) She is hard to use mind tricks on as she can see through them but is gullible when it comes to lies (a weakness of being too trusting). Checkers spends a lot of her spirit energy hiding her horns and tail. Due to being weak for her species she can only transform into a common domestic cat and will have her horns and tail out after turning back (due to lack of energy). One thing she has mastered that the rest of her family hasn’t is hammerspace. She can make food but if someone tries to eat it will taste a bit off. She can get rid of her stuff and it will disappear into blue dust.. One thing that has always flawed Checkers is her curiosity and habit to stick her nose into things she shouldn’t be. She likes watching what people are doing. All of these tend to get her into situations she really doesn’t want to be in. Can see in the dark but only in monochrome.

Dislikes
Iron
Being distantly related to the Fae, Tricksters and some other spirits are very allergic to Iron and Steel. Checkers wears gloves most of the time, and being weaker in power it just makes her skin itch a bit. If in contact with it for extended periods of time, she will come out in hives and rashes.
Candles
Being a spirit she cannot be around open candles. Again, it is a lot more effective against stronger spirts like her brother but if a room is filled with the likes of pillar or ritual candles it repels her. Like a magnet pushing away from another magnet. Modern scented candles or ones lit without ritual intent don’t really have an effect.

Trivia
- Ducc Ducc’s hair is naturally bright orange but they dye parts purple with techniques learned when still in her tribe. She always has the purple streak at the top but sometimes, when she wants to be fancy, she will dye her side burns with a stripy, coontail pattern.

Main Relationships
Dr. Ori Gann
Born together, Draughts was the more loved, more powerful, more arrogant of the pair. He is very self-centred. They grew up together where Draughts tried to include her when their parents didn’t and when they were separated, he missed her dearly. They have a strange sense when they close to each other, and are more powerful together. They are ok now but Draughts is still a little in his own ass.
Mimi
When Checkers was cursed my Cronn, a Daemon of disease; Lorenzo, a Stomean City spirit frog came to her. At first they had trouble getting along but they need each other to live. They both have a lot of pain when they are separated, even for short distances. At first Lorenzo was super messy and noisy but after they have bonded he normally knows good time and place to cause mischief.
Cassiel Xaphan
Checkers and Cassiel use to be very close before he betrayed her when he revealed his true intentions. Still bonds were created and both have a sort of “If anything is to happen to (the other) I will be the one to do it.” So when the other gets in to trouble, they will be there for each other… even for a moment of truce.
