Asani was raised as an only child, growing up surrounded by the hopes and dreams of two very loving parents.
Asani doesn't start out as the most emotionally vulnerable when he arrives at Jiwe Clan- he covers up his baggage with a cool, dismissive demeanor. He comes off as snarky and grumpy, and is uncertain of his own fate. When it comes down to it though, as he opens up, he has a strong moral compass and is not afraid to speak up when something doesn't feel right, and is in full support of fixing those wrongs, even if he has to stand up and do it himself. Unfortunately, this trait also encourages his cynical side- if someone makes a rude first impression, he tends to take it personally, confront them and assume that's how they treat others. Asani may need to be reminded that they too might have issues happening in their lives, before he hears them out. He has no issues disrespecting someone who he feels is truly awful, but tries to reserve that treatment to those who have proven they have bad intentions.
Despite being very tight lipped about the sad memories of his life, he has no hangups on showing his joy, and loves to laugh and spend time with others. When someone shows a kind heart, it is easy to become his friend. He will support those with good intentions with all he has, and do anything to not only help them, but to give them the tools to help themselves. He is very patient with those he cares about, and cares immensely about boundaries. Unusual for a male hyena, he loves kids instead of merely accepting their presence.
He does not want to talk about why he still remains in Jiwe Clan, despite being unhappy.
